Christmas Day lunch or dinner

What would you suggest for our Christmas dinner (which will probably be around lunch time)? I'd like ideas for in a park or one of hotels would be okay too. A couple of years ago we had our Christmas dinner at the Garden Grille and enjoyed it. I'm thinking this time we should try some place different. Thanks!

Keep in mind if you want to eat your Xmas meal at lunch, most of the resorts main restaurants do not serve during lunch hours.

You didn't say what you were looking for in terms of food? Traditional, or just whatever? A place that's well decorated for the holidays?

I don't think you can go wrong at any restaurant in WS. I wouldn't normally recommend Le Cellier at all, but if you are going for lunch that might be a good place to have good ambience and decent food.
This is one of those times of year where you really wish the USA pavilion had a sitdown place because I think it would be all decked out and have fabulous food.

I'm interested to see the responses to this post too. I'll be there over Christmas and have no idea where to get PS for on Dec 25th. I want to go more traditional I think, and maybe for dinner rather than lunch.

This is our first Christmas in WDW. Since we tradtitionally have a big breakfast on Christmas morning at my parents house, we hope to continue the tradition and have a late breakfast at Either Cindys(doubtful) or Chef Mickeys. Then we should be full for most of the day and we wont want a big dinner. Depending on wait times we will try either Beaches & Cream, or ESPN later in the day for burgers. Worst case scenario we will eat at a food court or counter service somewhere.
Our big holiday "dinner" will be on Christmas Eve, hopefully at Le Cellier for the CP package.

This past Christmas was my first time at WDW for the holidays. We had breakfast at Boatwrights (PO-Riverside) before heading to Epcot for LeCellier Candlelight Processional dinner package. We (3 adults) thought LeCellier was wonderful and had a relaxing un-rushed meal and a fantastic server. Doing CP on 12/25 made it actually feel like Christmas.

We ate at California Grille for xmas dinner last year.. It was great and our table was overlooking MK as it got dark. They had 3 seatings you could book (3pm, 6pm and 9pm) - were at the 6pm, rumor has it, the 9pm sees the fireworks, not sure if they served lunch that day or not.. but a late breakfast or snack could hold you til 3pm seatings...
I think most hotel restaurants with full service restaurants have special meals on xmas.. but am not positive. Reserve early they fill up quick.

Also, on xmas and xmas even, if you don't show for a PS you will be charged (without 48 hours notice). In some cases where there is a set price (like the California grille), you will be charged the full amount, in park restaurants, it would be $10 per person for not showing.

Many of the restaurants especially in the resorts start serving early and go through the evening. I have seen this at Whispering Canyon and Yacht. St. All of the disney restaurants offer a traditional xmas dinner as their special for the day.

Suggestions:
Resorts-Cal Grill, Concourse ST, Whispering Canyon, Artist Point, GF Cafe, Konas, Yachts St, Boma, Trails End.

Parks- LTT, Cindy's, Prime Time, Mama Melrose, Brown Derby, Any of the WS restaurants.
Keep in mind with the park restaurant you choose what time you will be entering the Park. A good example is MK which always filles to capacity by 11am on xmas day. So trying to get in later in the day may be difficult.
Remember to make your PS well in advance of your arrival. The restaurants will book up long before you arrive.

There were 7 of us who spent the holidays in WDW last year. We were there for 12 days, and we had some wonderful meals.

When I asked "which was your favorite" without hesitation it was dinner at the California Grill on Christmas night. We had the later seating, and we did get to see the fireworks from our table.

It was prix fixe. I believe it was around $45.00 per person. The service was impeccable, and the menu was outstanding. I had a Muscovy duck that was exceptional. We had appetizers, a special pizza for the table to share, salad, the entree and dessert.

If we ever plan another holiday stay, I would book it again. It was well worth the price.
