Christmas Day EMH strategy

We will be staying on property for the first time in a number of years. MK has EMH from 7-8. We will likely arrive around 7 or a bit later - we aren't going to get there to wait for rope drop. It occurred to me, however, that by the time we get there people will be waiting for 8a rope drop - and also that the resort monorail could be packed with people arriving for rope drop.

So how does that work?

* Will the resort monorail be hard to get on?

* Everyone can go through security, but only those with EMH can get through the tapstiles? Will it be hard to get to the tapstiles?

* Am I making this hard and it will be easy, or am I right that it's going to be a bit of a zoo?

Any thoughts or been there/done that welcome! Thanks in advance -

We arrived at about 6:30 am on Christmas Day two years ago. The place was filling up fast at the entrance. Try to get there sooner, rather than later.

Thanks for the response/suggestion. We get in the night before so 6:30 is unlikely for us - which is what leads to my question !

1. Will the resort monorail be hard to get on?

2. Everyone can go through security, but only those with EMH can get through the tapstiles? Will it be hard to get to the tapstiles?

3. Am I making this hard and it will be easy, or am I right that it's going to be a bit of a zoo?
1. Yes
2. Yes and yes.
3. "A bit of a zoo" is an understatement. Be prepared for massive crowds. Everything is going to take much longer than you think it will. If I were going to brave MK on Christmas Day, I would do whatever it takes to be the gates by 6:00.

Get up early, and plan to leave by 10 to go back to your room and take a nap. Your experience approaching in the dark with lower crowds, versus battling slow transport and long lines just to squeeze into the gates is worth giving up 45 minutes of sleep. Where are you staying? We made use of the 7:00 am EMHs last year, and caught a boat from the Poly at 6:40, which had us entering prior to crazy crowds. If you aren't on the monorail loop, plan to be leaving your room by 6:00. On the monorail loop, you can leave your room by 6:15, but plan on taking a resort launch or walking from CR.
