Hi, all! Looking for some advice regarding the Citiwalk restaurants for lunch on Christmas Day itself. We've never been on a holiday at Universal & I'm wondering about needing a reservation.

We're not picky - kinda looking at Hard Rock Cafe but not "set" on it & we'd be eating early, lunch not dinner.

Any personal experiences/advice would be greatly appreciated!

If you're eating an early lunch I would arrive there just as lunch starts. I thought HRC didn't accept reservations, but according to this it appears you can make them: www.hardrockcafe.com/location/orlando/

Just to be on the safe side I would call and check with HRC directly once you make the reservation since the online reservation process is affiliated with Open Table technically, not 100% directly with Hard Rock. It should be safe as it starts on the official website, but I'd double check.

I made a dinner reservation at Margaritaville. CItyWalk was a sea of people, but they did honor my reservation. I would probably not eat there again. That was a couple of years ago. I'd eat where you are staying, and yes, make a reservation as soon as you can, to get the time you want. It's about the only time I suggest getting a reservation way before I arrive.

Thank you!

We were really wanting to avoid making a reservation because we LOVE being able to not be "scheduled" at Universal. However, we do realize Christmas Day is a whole different deal....I'll probably go ahead & reserve somewhere just to make sure we're able to eat something.

Yeah, the only thing I can think of is places that open for lunch (not breakfast) to get there a little prior to opening so once the doors open you're one of the first to be served. Once again, you said you do not like to be held to a schedule and in a way you kind of still would be. However, since you said early lunch I thought I'd mention it. I typically do that regardless whether QS, or TS during any time of the year, because it's quieter and feels less crowded and in the case of QS, it is more than likely to be fresher as well.
