Hi,

Could anyone help me out with deciding where to eat on Christmas Day?
Are all the restaurants open and is it essential to book in advance and can anyone recommend a particular restaurant?

Many thanks

We have been to wdw for xmas week the last four years. we have made a point of not going to any park on xmas day...too crazy. 2005, we had breakfast (late 10:30am) at BOMA and then went to DTD for a movie and had xmas dinner at Artist Point in WL, it was beautiful (sat in the rocking chairs by the fireplace and watched the beautiful xmas tree) and put you in the xmas spirit. 2006 we went to CP for xmas eve with dinner in Japan, then xmas day had breakfast at 1900PF(great food and atmosphere with the gingerbread house and gorgeous tree) and shopped at DTD and then very late dinner at CG (9:15pm) but got there early enought to see Wishes!-great food and wonderful view of MK. Last year we went back to 1900PF for breakfast, then went to ICE! at Gaylord Palms Hotel and dinner at Boma. Great all 3 times and didn't miss the craziness of the parts for the holiday. We miss xmas this year, but wil be doing NYE and day(we will be at epcot or DHS for NYE). If you haven't made adr for xmas day 08, you may be out of luck as most have done so at 180 mark(at least for this year), especially if you are planning on eating at one of the park restaurants. There is a holiday menu section at allearsnet.com that can tell you history of some of the holiday offerings. There is also a holiday surcharge for most of the ts at xmas so be prepared(unless you are doing DDP).

It's 100% imperative that you get on the phone NOW and book something if you want to have a sit-down meal on Christmas Day. This will be our 3rd Christmas week trip to WDW and our 3rd time at a character buffet--2004 we did dinner at Crystal Palace, 2006 we had dinner at 1900 Park Fare, and this year we're booked at Chef Mickey's.

If you manage to get something inside a park, be sure you get to that park early and stay in it all day, especially MK.

Spending the day at the resorts or at DTD is also a nice way to spend the day. Everything is open.

This is my first year going to DW at Christmas. For that day we will be eating at Artist point. I am not sure if I want to do a big breakfast, I better start thinking about that. Good luck on where you decide but I would do it now :)

It's very important to get reservations! We just decided to go last week and called right away to make reservations. We didn't have too much luck for Christmas day, but since we are driving down and getting to POR on the 25th we decided to eat at the resort. We were able to get ADR for the rest of our stay, but the times we got were not our first choices.
