Grim....I have to say I agree with her...no pie pan. I read your post and thought nope it's not a pie, but I couldn't tell ya why..thanks Dede I've been schooled on pie.

We are headed over to visit Hannah (with the broken elbow & wrist) she needs a sleeveless dress(from Molly's closet/store) for going to see Annie with her Gparents today in SF, sounds like good Gparents huh?

I never know where to put recipes for it--cakes or pies? And anything w/ a graham crust & a cream cheese filling--many made in a pie pan, yet called a cake...

Hope you feel better, Dede...knock on wood (pause to knock on table), I have been lucky. And we certainly have had the upper respiratory crude rolling around our school, too--don't remember so many absences the first couple of weeks!

Let me add one more thing to this pie/cake debate - Boston Cream Pie. It's layer cake, cream filling and chocolate glaze - no ooze and no pie plate - yet it's called PIE. Can anyone explain that one?

On October 1, the Disney Magic will sail to the Norshipco shipyard in Norfolk, Va. for a two-week dry dock period, during which new guest experiences and venues will be added.



* Disney Cruise Line will introduce another cruise industry first with its Vista Spa and Salon expansion, which will include three specially designed indoor/outdoor spa treatment suites. Each suite will feature an indoor spa treatment room that is connected to a private outdoor verandah – complete with personal hot tub and open air shower. With beautiful ocean vistas and warm tropical breezes, the new treatment suites will provide guests with a romantic getaway into a tranquil oasis without ever leaving the ship.

* Adding to the already expansive offerings for children, Disney Cruise Line is transforming three conference rooms on deck 2 of the Disney Magic into a brand new hang-out for kids called Ocean Quest. Ocean Quest will feature a scaled replica of the ship’s bridge with simulation games that will allow children to steer a cruise ship in and out of ports around the world.

* Additionally, Disney Magic guests will soon be able to enjoy poolside movies on a brand-new, state-of-the-art jumbo LED screen on deck 9. Affixed to the forward funnel, the 24-by-14-foot screen will show movies along with major sporting and broadcast events. The enormous screen will also enhance outdoor entertainment and deck parties in and around the Goofy, family pool area.

* A new interactive shore excursion at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay, will immerse guests into the amazing underwater world of stingrays. In partnership with marine animal experts from the Living Seas at Epcot, Disney Cruise Line created a stingray sanctuary adjacent to the teen beach at Castaway Cay. The 60-minute experience called Castaway Ray’s Stingray Adventure includes an educational orientation loaded with interesting facts and tidbits about stingrays, hands-on interaction, and free-time to snorkel in the stingray lagoon. Castaway Ray’s Stingray Adventure is scheduled to open late September.


They are testing staggered dinning until the end of Jan.

I read this to be that it is in dry dock for the upgrades for 2 weeks begining on 10/1/05 so that means it should be out to sea on 10/15/05. Seems really quick for all the good stuff they have planned for the upgrades, but hey, I'm sure they have many happy hands working on those projects

I can't wait to see the *new* spa...I was happy just thinking about the old spa and I'm sure that my kids Molly (8) and Wilson (5) would love to try to steer a ship into port.

Kris, I'm so proud of you for sticking with your exercise program. My SIL and I did Curves with the $99 summer special in Julu and August, but we didn't renew for the year. Keep it up!

Next week I'm going to make my final cruise payment, and I'm feeling nervous along with the excitement. Remember when our old friend Franco made his final payment he said he was feeling some doubts about spending so much money. That's what I'm feeling. The money is there, but it's so much spent for a week's vaca. I always felt you don't put pricetags on precious times with family, but we've never spent so much on a vaca before.
I removed my second countdown clock (the summer 4-day Wonder then 7-day Poly trip) because I have to wait and see about my kid's schedules. And I might skip the cruise. We'll see, but we're definitely going back to WDW in 06.

I have to post this quick, I keep losing the wireless signal and losing my posts! Annoying!

And technically, you can do them in a pie pan but you're supposed to use a springform (cake) pan.

Hi everybody!

We had a great night last night - I was so busy my sister had to be the photographer. I have absolutely NO idea what pictures we have at this point.

John and I did the Renaissance Faire today...as I said, after trying to find Rose and having no luck, John had to come home from Philly to pick me up and take us out almost to Harrisburg. It's a nice place to visit and spending time together makes it a nice ride.

Hubby picked up a blueberry wine this time, last year he got peach. The faire is held at a winery so we hit that on the way out so he can try something new each visit.

We met a fellow DISer while there. She's a threadkiller by trade, Dalpal is her name. She's such a sweety Her hubby and sis are cool too! She even brought me a birthday gift-a keychain done up in Tigger links (I'll upload pics tomorrow) and a silver doggie magnet for my fridge with a picture of Mika already in it

It was a dirty day - outside - gotta take a buble bath before heading to bed.

I did print the Navs and now have to spend hours preparing a spreadsheet like my hero(ette) (that's a woman hero) The theory goes that you can add "ette" to any masculine adjective (yes I'm kidding I know it is not a male/female defined word)

what on earth did we do today....hmmm hung out with broken elbow friend, went to Target, then Mervyns, had to get Wilson some hightop tennies, tomorrow is his first go-kart race. Just realized I haven't loaded those up yet...I'll have work on it too....

Hey Aisling, how was the movie??? I just remember you should have seen it by now. It looks so scary...love Jodie Foster, but mom losing daughter freaks me out.

Zoning out for the rest of the night...we're up early to go racing.....

The movie was extremely suspenseful, and made me so nervous watching Jodie Foster as the frantic mom that I realized I was taking very shallow breaths, and I actually got dizzy! It was a terrific movie. I won't say a word about what happens in case any of you go see it, but OMG be prepared for some twists that'll have your jaw dropping! Jodie is such an excellent actress, but somehow she hasn't gotten the major movie star recognition that she so deserves. Highly recommended!

Yes, indeed I do love HP. When I went to Fla last trip I listened to the whole audo book (the newest one) down & back. I must say I wasn't surprised at who the half blood prince is; but, why he is the prince surprised me. And, when the character that died did I cried.

Working in a prison I do get to talk to the I/M's. Some of them love HP also. There was two guys in particular whenever we discussed HP it was like talking about real people.

Will we be disapointed when the 7th book finally comes out & there arn't anymore?

Why thank you...I also love harry potter I am currently on the 6th book....That would be kewl to listen to ?Harry Potter on tape...I am going to have to look into that!...I am sorry I haven't been around in a while and I am just checking all the pages i have missed! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TIG! Sorry its so late! But I hope you had a great birthday! I have been so busy with thinking about the cruise...planning....school...hanging with friends...sports...it's just all wayy to much right now! ....But I am enjoyign it...It getting so cloe to CRUISE time!!!! I just can't wait! I hope the new improvements are ready by our cruise!

You WILL go on this cruise! Yes, it's a healthy chunk-o-change to spend on a vacation but as the song goes-I've been waiting a lifetime for a moment like this. (a-la-Kelly Clarkson)

-they use the song for Sandals resort now but originally used it for Disney, so now every time I hear it I think of Disney -

I am 99.9% positive that this will be my only cruise ever, and I want you there!!!

I have a photo shop I need to visit on St Thomas called Royal Caribbean. I'm told I can get a REALLY good deal on a waterproof camera case. It's on Main Street in St Thomas. (They also have "watches, jewelry, electronics and gifts." Their website is royalcaribbean.vi )
