We are hoping to take the 7-day cruise over Christmas of 2005. It appears that this cruise will depart on Christmas Eve and return on New Year's Eve (is that rights that 7-day cruises depart on sat.?) We couldn't imagine a better place to be for the holidays. I have a couple of questions.

1. How fast do the holiday cruises sell out?
2. What kind of special things does Disney do for the holidays?
3. How do I explain to the kids that Santa is going to come a day early b/c he knows we are going on a cruise??

I booked my 2002 Christmas Cruise in March of 2000, but I was also trying for a Category 3. I hear they sell out pretty quickly.

There are all sorts of holiday decorations, Christmas music, the characters dressed up in Christmas outfits. Santa giving the kids a little gift, special menus, gingerbread house making, Christmas carols, etc.

My kids were older so we didn't have to worry about santa and they knew the cruise was their gift. You could always bring a few presents with a note telling them that their gifts would be waiting when they got home.

If you look back in the threads towards the end of December, I am sure you will see lots and lots of responses about the holiday cruise.

I doubt if there are any 'specials' for the Christmas cruise, I think it is usually one of the highest priced cruises of the year.

We are going on the 4 day cruise in 2004 from Dec. 19-23, and this is considered value season (then it goes up for the one that runs over Christmas, which I hear is going to be a 10 day cruise, but don't know any details--someone else mentioned that on this board).

This year the cruise that runs from Dec. 21-23 is also value price. So if you go right before Christmas it is much cheaper (and the ship is all decorated for the holidays throughout December).

I don't know when the 2005 info will be out, we are anxiously awaiting the September 2003 Eastern Cruise information. If they have new ports, we are considering changing for Christmas to the 7 day in September (depending on where it goes).

Thanks for the info. Wow, a 10 day cruise would be amazing. I think we are going to try for a Cat. 3 so I will check on a regular basis. I imagine that the dates will be released around Jan/Feb 2004 for the 2005 Christmas cruise. It sounds like a Christmas cruise will be fabulous ( not that all Disney cruises aren't fabulous). We are tied into the actual week of Christmas b/c of school schedules.
