Christmas Cruise 2005!!!

KKB we are traveling with lots of kids ranging from 4-11, boys and girls. We have several your children's ages.

Hi KKB,

I'm very happy to meet you!
I've read here on the Dis that Santa makes an appearance on board, giving gifts to the children, and that many families bring gifts. Your children may hear other children talking about what they got from Santa, and it may confuse them.
Maybe you could tell your children that Santa is going to your home as usual to drop off their gifts, but that when he found out about the Disney Magic, he wanted to make a quick stop there, too. You can give them trinket gifts on Christmas morning. My kids are older, and I'm still going to sneak and put a couple of gifts under our tree at home, to "prove" to them that Santa's been there! And we'll have some small gifts on Christmas morning.

Our Dis group is growing! :thewave:

I don't mind packing goodies that will be used up so there is space for shopping! Plus, I could make coupons for things we were planning on letting them do anyway, but now it will seem more special! PLUS I may be able to get by with very little at home!! (like they don't get enough gifts from their other 2--yes, TWO--grandmas!)
We will have a total of 10-12 children in the group. For sure 10 ranging from 5-14, then not sure if one couple is bringing their very young children. Their boys will be 1 and 2 1/2! I recommended taking both boys to Grandma in Michigan who would LOVE it, and they are considering it for the younger one, but may bring the older one. We shall see.
I just don't think I can wait 10 1/2 months!!!!! Our group of close friends are going to Cancun next month (2 of the wifes turn 40 this year). DH felt w/ our cruise last Oct. plus this one that we shouldn't go...I grudgingly agreed...then I decided we SHOULD go anyway--unbelievable the resort they are staying at is booked full, and the 2 beside it also! Spring break, I guess. SO I will simply have to dream for many more months!!!!
Look forward to much more "conversations" w/ you all!
Kristin
RATS! Computer won't let me use the cute icons! :Pinkbounc (see!)

When I clicked on it, it just showed "pink bounc"
But it must go on the post. Cool. These are the cutest icons I have seen!

Hi Gang,

Wondering...anyone staying at the MCO Hyatt the night before?
I just booked our DCL transfer from the Hyatt to the port. We were going to rent a car, but decided to have the DCL bus experience.

I'm still deciding if it's going to be tuxes or suits on formal night. The reason I would go for the tuxes for my men is so we won't have to lug 3 suits with us, we can just rent from the cruiseline. They can wear the tuxes on formal night, and wear the tuxes again on semi-formal but with a regular tie instead of the bow tie. I'm going to go back and find some posts about this topic on the other board, to see how many men wear tuxes. I don't want my men to feel overdressed if most of the other guys are wearing suits for formal.

So how is everyone doing??

Hey Aisling!

I think 3xthecharm is doing the Hyatt, not sure if it's the MCO Hyatt or not...3x! You out there?! :wave2:

IMO: Do the Tuxes! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo
Suits are so day to day

Yup, MCO Hyatt!

Sorry I've been MIA, but the kids are sick and DH is on board ship.

I'll check back in a couple of days. :sunny:

But dressing up isn't MIL's style, though others in the group might.
My boys will just be in Sunday school attire--not even for sure if they will have ties...DD will be dolled up for sure. I will be in cocktail dress. DH wore dark suit for formal night on Princess, so sure that is what we will do, unless MIL suggests otherwise. Helps DH to get wear out of his suit! (We are both teachers, so not a lot of call for suits, even)
Can't wait!
Kristin :cool1:

We are. We did this on the last cruise too. Loved it! Very convenient.

Got my new camera on Friday.

Grim, I've really enjoyed your photos. I haven't even bought my first digital yet, but I'm working on it.

Are you taking the DCL bus to the port?

Tig, you've put up some great pics, too! I keep saying I'm going to get Chad to put up some pics of us, but he's too busy chatting online to do his mom a favor LOL! I told him I'm going to :badpc: if he doesn't help me!!

Thanks :teeth:

I think we are going to take a town car (Tiffany) to the port.

Is anyone planning on doing the REAS package? Do they still offer it? I haven't been keeping up with the cruise board.

Thank you!

I'm sure I can help you if Chad doesn't. Let me know if you want me to PM instructions to you on how to post.

Isn't that the romance package?
I'll be with Mom so I haven't even looked at that one ;)
TBJ: Did you get your new passporter? If you did, is it still offered?

The new passporter book doesn't come out until March 2005. :guilty:

Guess I'll answer my own question...

Looks like it will be available through the end of the year for $339.00. Includes a couples massage, reservations at Palo, a gift basket, champagne breakfast in bed, and a special turn down service the night of your Palo dinner.

grim pirate:

The REAS package is $399 extra per couple. You get a couple's massage, priority Palo and Spa ressies, one morning of breakfast in bed, and one evening of "special" turn-down service, which has something to do with rose petals. You also get a romantic welcome basket. It seems expensive to me, but maybe if I didn't have a couple of kids going with me, DH and I would spring for it anyway.

Today I went to the Chinese couple who do my hair, and it was great. I've been trying to save money, by today I decided I was worth the $12 to have her wash my hair, and give me a head, neck, shoulder and upper back massage. This place is unbelievable. Then she walks me to Jim, the guy who combs and straightens out my hair using two blow dryers at the same time. He practically blows out strand by strand. I just close my eyes and go into a meditative state. It's so relaxing! If I went to a regular neighborhood salon, it costs $35 for the same thing, but with no massage. After I did this, I felt guilty that I could have put that $12 in our cruise jug. But sometimes a girl needs to be pampered. So that's what I did today.
Then I rushed over to St. Columba School where I teach 4th grade catechism, and found that i had to take in the other 4th grtade class who's teacher was absent, Ok, no problem. I had 37 kids, but they were all angels, and it went very well. Then I rushed over to Jesse's PT meeting. He did well on his report card, honor roll. Thank you God.
Mel's out playing league tennis, Chad just got home from work at the rectory, and I'm ready to read the Dis for hours and hours if my eyes would permit me, but they won't. Can you tell I'm getting delirious from exhaustion> LOL!

Anyway, my cruise friends, have a good wednesday night, and I'll be new and refreshed by tomorrow, because I'm going to bed early tonight!

Hi All! It's me tiggerwannabe/Colleen ;)

My computer won't let me sign out of my daughter's new DIS name, so I shall help increase her post count:)

grim :rotfl: that's so funny, you two must have answered at the same time. :( sorry I couldn't help ya grim :sad2: maybe next time...

ais: LOL :goodvibes I relaxed soooo much during one of my last "real" haircuts that the girl stopped and asked me if I was alright :earboy2: in my best southern bell accent
Us girls need that kind of pamperin just to survive
I'd really like to try your hairdresser :earsgirl:
It's treating yourself to this kind of treatment that enables you to handle 37 fourth graders without even breaking stride :teacher:
Good Job Aisling!

Time is going by pretty good heh? we are getting there! I think I have only two
more payments and the cruise will be ours!!! I am not a credit card guy most
of our trips are paid in cash. The airlines, car rentals are paid with DW card but
whatever the cost is I give her that amount to pay. School vacation coming
up this coming week for our boys, so DW and myself are heading up to Foxwoods
for three days of R&R. My sister a retired nurse will be coming up to stay with
boys and my Mom (Alziemers) DW needs a break, her wish is my command!
Also getting ready for some surgery, I have a very ugly left leg, very big and
many vericos viens that will be coming out on March 11th. It really effects my
daily workouts. I am into power walking and I am pretty good at it for my age
and condition (Even won a 3.5 mile race) This will slow me down for awhile but
they need to come out.
All ressies are made except excursions and we are ready to Rock and Roll!!! :earsgirl: :smooth: :bounce:

~That's so awesome~ that you and DW can take care of Mom and still be able to take time for yourselves :) I hope you two have a great time!

My DBIL has that same problem, I hope your recouperation is quick! :wizard:

I'll be waiting a few more months before purchasing our airfare. My friends and I are leaving in 2 1/2 weeks to WDW for 5 days, then I get to pay for our summer vaca in NC-my same friend has us going to the beach for 2 weeks and then, my mom is taking my kids to WDW in July-gotta get their WDW park passes for that and then I can work on airfare and excursions! I will be soooo ready for the cruise by the end of this year! :rotfl: :smooth:

to top it all off, another friend of mine just convinced me to book a trip with her to WDW next May! She really wants to take her kids to WDW, as she said, "before she gets too old to go" as if that could happen;) She asked me to go and be her tourguide. This way her and her kids can get the full experience since this'll probably be her only opportunity to ever go :sad2:

I know I can make it a trip of a lifetime for them. :wizard:
Can't I Mom? ;)

Have a Great weekend my fellow cruisers!
