Ok, so we still have plenty of yummy Christmas cookies left, in cookie tins, but since most were made on Dec 23 or Dec 24, they will be two weeks old tomorrow or Tuesday.

Even though I should toss them since they'll just go to my thighs LOL  they still taste good! :) So how long *could* we eat them if we want? ;)

TIA!!

As long as they are not stale tasting or crumbling I think you are fine. Maybe you could freeze some to enjoy later. I hate to make cut out cookies because of the mess so I always do a double batch. When I am done cutting out Christmas cookies, I make heart shaped cookies then freeze them for Valentine's Day. They still taste yummy even though they have been in the freezer almost 2 months. I don't ice them first though.

Good idea about the sugar cookies! Too late for Christmas and Valentines but not too late for Valentines and Easter! :thumbsup2

If they get stale put them in a ziplock with a slice of bread. Softens them up and keeps them fresh. I hate throwing them out after all the work to make them.

I freeze my cookies as soon as I make them and just defrost as needed for cookie plates and giving away (I made 25 batches this year). They are good for 6 months or more in the freezer :)

Whenever I bake cookies I leave out enough for a couple days and then freeze the rest or I'll freeze half the dough and bake fresh at a later date. I would probably thro them away or freeze them at this point, they must be getting stale by now:confused3

Too many cookies? This is seriously a problem I've never had around here! They never last long enough to get stale.

My first thought was the same. This is never a problem in my house!

My thoughts exactly! I know what cookies are and I know what too many is, but had no clue that you could have too many cookies! :rotfl: Seriously, as long as they tasted ok, I would eat them.

We are snowed in a pretty much out of everything. I was down to eating chocolate chips out of the bag, when I remembered a pan of rice krispy treats. They are a little stale, but hard times call for whatever we can get!

Mine only last about a week so I've no experience but I'd think when they start tasting stale that's when I'd get rid of them.
