Let me start with I'm a Disney World nut, my wife is a Christmas Carol nut. She picked me up at 3:30 yesterday after work (movie theater is 1/2ml. away). She wanted a good seat for the 4:30 show. We sat down as the credits from the fist show were running. The family in front of us (still watching the credits, told us "It was great" and "Were going to see it again!" Well there not the only one's, we'll be back to see it again too! That's all I need to say.

We saw it last night. We are not Jim C. fans. I have read the story many times and have many renditions of the movie. We both were awed by this movie. We will buy it on Blu-Ray when availabe. We saw it in 3-D. The movie stuck close to the story. DH and I both thought that this version was as good as the Alastair Sim version, which is our favorite version.

We saw it last night and thought it was good; however our 4 year old was very scared at times throughout the movie. The 3rd ghost was especially scary for him. Our older boys (7 and 12) and their friends loved it.

I love all Christmas Carol movies. Looking forward to seeing it soon.
However, DD (adult), saw it yesterday and she was under whelmed.
"I like the Muppets Christmas Carol better" is what she said :rotfl: That has always been her favorite though.

We saw it last night and the effects were amazing, great movie however my kids, ages 7 and 9 thought it was just ok. I think movie is geared towards older kids.

I felt the same way. And Muppet Christmas Carol is one of my favs also.

Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol will always be my favorite. All of you seeing it tonight let me know your thoughts.

We saw it today- it was very good. Muppets Christmas Carol is still my favorite though..........

Saw it today at Imax & it was great. My DS (14) enjoyed it too.
We don't have IMAX in our city.. but we will be visiting family for thanksgiving and can see it there in IMAX. Wondering if seeing it in IMAX would be better?

I saw it last night and didn't love it. It was barely ok. So as you can see I was very disappointed.

DH and I went today. Saw it in 3-D but not on the IMAX.

I enjoyed it a lot. I didn't like the one scene with the third ghost (I don't want to spoil it!) but it just seemed a bit pointless, and it dragged on a lot longer than anything else. I'm sure if you've seen it you know what I'm speaking of.

Though, I did really enjoy it. I especially liked the snowing scenes, since they really pulled me into the movie with the 3D.

DH still likes Muppet CC better... but that is his fav.

I might like Mickey's Christmas Carol more, but well, that's nostalgic!

I find an affinity to all Christmas Carols since my son was in it in the middle school production.

But Jim Carrey has gotten weirder over the years...Or is this my imagination? I saw him yesterday on Conan O'Brien and he still seemed quite hyper. Definitely don't like the shaggy beard he is sporting.

We just got back and I must be the odd ball but I absolutely HATED the movie. I felt like it was better suited to Halloween than Christmas. It was waaay too scarey for young kids in more scenes than one. I ended up leaving 3/4 way through, my daughter kept saying to me "mom, lets just leave" so eventually I said Okay. It was a huge disappointment to us.

This movie does come with a PG warning. I agree it has some very scary moment and a few scenes do drag on. I do feel they stay true to Dickens. We seen every Christmas Carol movie and go every year to a play. I'm not expert and I agree this move does have flaws but on a whole this movie is on the top of my list.
