Okay-

We usually do a photo type card featuring our son, who just turned three. Does anyone have any cute unique ideas for this years card?

If you are willing to share pics of yours that would be fun!

I don't have a picture but one year I did an I Spy version. I got the idea from Family Fun and it was SOOOOO cute!! I will try to explain it.

First, I took the most recent 5x7s of our DD's and propped them up on a big box. Then on the floor in front of the box there was all this little stuff, like a toy car (which signified DH getting a new car that year), a horse because older DD got a horse for her birthday and so on and so on. After all of the stuff was placed, I took a photo of the whole thing, added it to a WORD document and then underneath the photo, I typed up a list for them to find everything.
EX:
1. Find the black car (yay, Josh got the new car he has been wanting this year!)
2. Find the brown horse (Delaney got her heart's desire for her birthday!)
and then on and on. Hubby had got a promotion and DD had really amazing grades and other DD had started preschool but I don't remember how I showed those.

:-D

He can decorate his own "Merry Christmas" sign and hold it up to show off his artistic abilities!

DD6 lost her two front teeth about 3 days apart, so DH got a great picture. Now if we can only figure out a way to add music!

That is what we are doing this year too! I'm just trying to figure out how to arrange the wording(All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth), etc to make it flow with the card. Any suggestions?

A few years ago I took a pic of mine all in a tub full of bubbles wearing bubble santa beards!:thumbsup2 it was great- my Mother in law, however balked because you "couldn't see their adorable faces!":sad2:
I'll try to dig up the picture...

I will try to add our picture form 2 years ago. We were in front of the Castle and I think it said---Wishing you a Magical Christmas!

Two years ago my DD lost both front teeth right before Christmas and I couldn't resist using "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth" on the top of our photo. But around the border I continued with "....and a pony and a new bike and a puppy and a robot and ......" all the way around the picture with different toys. It was cute. Good luck. They look so different when they get their big kid front teeth.

That is a great idea...thanks so much! I have got to get the picture taken soon...if you look closely, you can see the big teeth breaking the skin.

I can't get over how different she looks with the teeth missing! They grow up so fast!

We do the photo card thing of our DS3 also . Here is the one I did for this year. It is so crazy to look back at the last 3 years cards and see just how much he has changed.

I just ordered this year's card yesterday. It is of my three kids at Disney this year. The photopass photographer told them to look surprised. Then they added Stitch popping up out of the ground. The kids did a great job and my youngest DD had a perfect look of surprise on her face. I said "Hope your Christmas is full of surprises!

My oldest is 13 so we've done a lot of different poses. I'm not sure where you live, so I'm not sure if these ideas will work for you, but for past photocards we've put the kids in a pile of leaves, taken them to the beach (awesome place in winter) and posed them in front of a fire (bonfire or fireplace either looks great) - all wearing their Christmas dress up clothes.

This year they're putting on old fashioned clothes (sweater vests and newsboy caps) and going to sit in an antique car.

We've also used photos from our vacations - some photo vendors have these great cards that let you use two photos - so you can use a close up and a posed shot in front of a special place like cinderella's castle - and they're usually the same price as the single picture photos.

Amazing !! That photo is absolutely incredible! Thanks for sharing!

My Christmas Cards have become notorious around family and friends. I have them all in one book so no pictures to post but here are the ideas:

Let there be "peas" (peace) on earth: My son holding a can of peas over a ball that looked like a globe.
Fleece Navidad (the whole family wearing fleece)
Plaid tidings of comfort and joy ( wearing plaid pj's)
May your days be merry and bright! (DS wearing sunglasses)
Those have been a few of our recent ones.

Last year, we took a picture of the kids all dressed up before a wedding. It came out great. Before we finished taking the pictures, we told them to make a goofy face and to our surprise they all did. So on the outside of the card, we put the picture of them being proper. On the inside of the card, they were all making goofy faces. It was kind of a funny surprise for everyone when they opened the card.

When my DS#1 was 3 he was really spoiled by the grandparents (not that he isn't now:rotfl: ) and had 4 or 5 winter coats. I put one on him had him run around in the snow with the dog for a while, come in switch coats, run around with the dog, repeat, repeat, repeat. All of this while I was taking pictures. Everyone got a different card. They loved it. Some went to the others houses to see which ones they got:rotfl2:

These sound cute, try to send some pix!

I did a really cute one last year with my twins. It's my favorite we've done so far. They were 4 years old. I placed a white sheet on the floor (to serve as the background), and put them in white tshirts with santa hats on their heads. I had them lay down really close to each other on top of the white sheet, and covered them up to their necks in a white sheet. So, the only colors in the pic are red and white. I then gave each boy a huge peppermint candycane, and had them hold it just at the edge of the sheet (like the kids in the Grinch cartoon, just before the Grinch steals their candycanes). Then I had them close their eyes and snapped the pic. It was adorable.

When they were around 2 1/2 y/o, I baked cookies, then put them in trays on the floor, along with bowls of red and green icing and sprinkles. I put the kids on the floor with it all, in just their diapers (I put white diaper covers over the diapers to make it look nicer), then I let them go to town and started snapping. I got a great shot of them covered in icing, both looking up at my dh...they had a look on their faces like they were caught doing something wrong. I put a caption on the pic that said " Cookies??....What Cookies???..." that was a cute one, too.

Another year I just put them on the floor in front of the tree with some wrapped gifts, wearing red and white striped pjs, and gave them a big roll of gold ribbon. I had them throw the ribbon in the air a few times and play a bit while I snapped pics. I chose the best one for our card.

We have a big family but here are a couple of my favorites...

This was our Brady Bunch pic, we had DHs kids this year along with mine. The final version had some kind of "Happy Holidays" thing on it.

This one was a last minute as the kids wanted to wait until we got up north to take a real SNOW picture! Oldest DD put this one together.

My personal favorite :lovestruc

My DD20 made this one, its just sometimes easier to get individual pix and make a collage than to try and get one good shot of everyone at the same time!
