Okay,
First off my family and I would like to wish everyone a Happy Easter.
As all of you know our family had to cancel our trip to Disney and our cruise on the Wonder for this past February due to 9/11. Well, being this is a Holiday, my DD was up from Philly and we are all together as a family so I asked all of them what they would like to do for vacation. They have to put these recommendations in writing by April 15 along with what activities there are available.
Well, my suggestion was Disney for 3 days and the cruise for 4 during Christmas..
What I would like to know is if anyone has ever done this. We would be staying at the Beach Club from 12/19 to 12/22 and the Wonder from 12/22 to 12/26. Just wondering how crowded WDW is during this time of the year and also the cruise. We would be at Castaway Cay on Christmas day.
Does Disney do anything special on the cruise or at Castaway Cay for Christmas?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Coach

WDW is <b><i>very</i></b> crowded during Christmas Break, but it's a lot of fun anyway because of all the extra programming they have. They don't have many details online yet, but there will be plenty more detail as Christmas gets closer. One event they've already listed for this year is "Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party". It's described as:

<blockquote><i>"A magical night of holiday snow, an enchanting parade, Disney Character greetings, family photos and tasty treats, plus the most popular <b>Magic Kingdom</b> attractions."</i></blockquote>

As for the cruise itself, the ship is <b><i>Wonder</i></b>-fully decorated for the season and there is a lot of special season-appropriate programming. Will they have anything specific on Castaway Cay itself? I don't know, but even if there isn't anything special there, DCL won't let you forget what day it is.

My family was at WDW 12/20-24 2000 and it didn't get crowded until the day before Christmas. Athough it was cold, the holiday decorations and special programs (my kids got to light the tree at our resort, The Christmas show at Epcot) made it a great time to go. Some of my extended family stayed on Christmas day and said it was very crowded.- I would go early entry, get a ressie for a nice lunch, then avoid the parks.
