How busy is busy during Christmas? We're planning a trip over the christmas holidays with 3 chrildren under five years. Would it be better to travel to San Diego first and tour the zoos, Lego land, and Sea World than venture to Anheim right after christmas and stay until the 9th of January. Does it make a differnece?

Thanks for any input.

I'll be honest - Christmas can be :scared1::scared1::scared1: busy!

The week between Christmas and New Years is the busiest week of the year. This past year, they sold out on several of those days and closed the park to new visitors, one day just a few hours after opening!

It sounds like you are planning a long trip though (Christmas to Jan. 9th). One thing I'll caution you of is that this year the Christmas decorations and festivities ended on January 3rd, so if seeing the park at "Christmas time" is important, you can't put it off too late in your trip or you will miss it.

Basically, it is REALLY REALLY busy. If that is the only time you can go, then I would plan to spend SEVERAL days at Disneyland because you won't be able to accomplish as much each day as you normally could. I don't like saying that because usually I like to suggest to people that they end their vacations at Disneyland because Disneyland is so much better than Sea World, the zoo, etc., but in your case you can't put it off too long or you will miss the Christmas decorations. If the Christmas decor isn't as important to you, then you could go later with the knowledge that Haunted Mansion and/or Small World may be closed to remove their holiday overlays.

We're plannning on going from the 25 December - January 9th, spending the majority of our time in DL.

Thought that if we reversed the trip, there might be less traffic after the holiday.

Thanks, looks like I have a lot of reading to do.:thumbsup2

My family was there in 2003 from Dec. 24 - January 2nd. It was very busy but the decorations were awesome. They had snow falling every night.

My kids wanted to see what it tasted like - tastes like a starch - but they had fun. We had 10 days to enjoy the park and that was nice because we didn't feel like we had to rush and see everything all in a couple of days.
