Christmas 2018 trip planning questions

I'm beginning to research for our first ever Holiday trip to the parks. I have a few questions about dates and hotels. I've checked the start of the holiday season for the past few years since I think I will want to go then. Does this date ever really change? I'm thinking of November 14 2018 would be day one but I'm scared to book it in advance without know for sure when the season starts. Is Santa in the parks in November?

Also any experience with suites at Camelot, Del Sol, or Park Vue??
