Not meaning to invade but...
Can someone please explain this Jesus thing to me? I mean, not that I believe in it, but so that I can see your point of view?
Jesus was prophesized in the Old Testament, written a long time before Jesus's birth. He will be born to a virgin, it was said.
Mary had an angel appear to her one day. Gabriel was his name. Gabriel said that she would be having the Father's baby. (Jesus.) Mary was an unmarried woman, and a virgin. She was engaged to be married to Joseph, a carpenter. When Joseph found out, he didn't really believe it. An angel, again Gabriel, appeared to him as well. Said the same thing he said to Mary.
In ancient Isreal, it was bad to be unmarried and pregnant. So of course, Mary and Joseph got their wedding together really fast.
Skip a few years. (Try about 30.) Jesus is now travelling with his twelve desciples. He has performed many miracles. Simon-Peter actually said in a verse that's address I forgot that, "Not a single book could contain Jesus's miracles." So he did a lot of them.
Passover. A.D 33ish. Jesus is riding on a donkey and the people of Jerusalem are waving palm fronds at him and worshipping him.
The next week. He is arrested for crimes against the government, the pharaises. They didn't like Jesus because he did things that they couldn't. They had him on trial, thanks to Judas Iscariot. Judas betrayed Jesus for I think 20 pieces of silver.
Jesus is crucified. Crucifiction is a painful, terrible death. It has pains everywhere. Jesus died. No one ever comes off a Roman cross alive. Three days later, the tomb where he was lain behind a stone, is empty, as Mary (Mother) and the other Mary, came to see the body. Jesus has risen, says the angels.
Hope this helps. It's not great, but it's late and I can't think.
