Hi my name is Christi and i am so excited to start my Blog on the planning on my Disney wedding. First off I am and ex Disney Store cast member who is still in love with Disney and wants to make sure that is part of my big day. Even thought i live in NJ i have been to Disney at least 30 times. Some years i have even been there 2 or three times. I have always wanted to get married there and can remember the first time i saw a Disney Bride walking down the stairs in the grand Floridian Resort. I knew that some day that would be me. It has been 15 or so years later and now i am making that wish come true.
I would love to get married on Nov. 2 or 1 2010. I am a teacher in NJ so this is the best time since i have a break then. I want a Escape wedding and a dinner in the Cape May Cafe where the rest of my family and friends can join in on the best day of my life.
I really feel that an escape wedding is perfect for me and my Man. We are not the type of people who like to have people faun all over us. In total we have 18 to the wedding and 40 people who are joining us for the dinner. When we told people that we wanted to get married there so many family and friends invited themselves down...It was so cute cause we were like "OK u can come but cant come to the wedding" every person agreed and said it would give them a reason to go.A few friends live in the Orlando area and were all for it.
As far as getting in contact with disney my Father is in charge. I have a busy teaching day so he is going to take the first few calls and we can discuss. I know the process that Disney takes because my longtime best friend ( Cast member) had a wishes wedding there last October. It was great but just not me so i want my wedding to be toned down and just a blast for all who come.
Did i mention that my Future husband is not the biggest disney fan....Oh yea so we are agreeing not a mickey in sight and no pictures in the park. I am really ok with this cause i just want my pictures in the GF and on the beach. I am going to stick a hidden mickey somewhere just for my friends and family.. Any suggestions where....

I really dont mind if the wedding is at Sea Breeze point or the wedding Pavilion. As far as the time i don't mind as long as it is not the 10:30 . When my friend had it then it was to early and i was so sleepy by the time of Not so Scary. I am getting 2 cakes so i can have my other guest feel that they are part of the wedding. Since we r dinning at Cape May (ironic since i am from NJ) I want a sea inspired cake.
Last but not least i was thinking of my something new something borrowed and something new.
Blue is done....My ring is a blue diamond....
Something new...My man is getting me a pair of Converse that has our wedding date.
Something old i think one of my sisters has that taken care of.

I will probably have questions and need help with little things. I hope that all u past and future brides can help....

So my Dad got the call from Disney yesterday...They put me in the books for Nov 1 or 2....I really dont mind the days and times...I am just a bit confused now. My planner mentioned that instead of having the dinner at Cape May disney can now offer a small ball room or a small venue and then have food and drinks sent in. This is really great and i love it but they wont tell me the food choices and they wont tell me the locations and i really do not want something that is so not me... I am just confused.... Does anyone know the room choices or what food they can serve. My parents and I are worried that it will suck and we will have put all this money out for nothing.... Help if u can!!!

Congrats on starting your wedding plans, cant wait to read more!

If you want to change the date in your title, go to edit your first post and then it should give you an 'advanced' button of some sort, cant remember exactly what its called but you can edit it then from there! Hope this helps!

Ok I called disney to ask a few questions and now i am getting more and more confused. The question is to have it at a resturant or this new thing about a mini reception. I really dont want the big thing just a small dinner with friend and family. At the Max we have 50 and the Min 30 and this is cause some family has not given me a responce on it yet...Some will be going there just for me and some will just be there any way cause it is in NJ teachers convention. Now i really dont know about the menues and the requirements on the spending.. I just dont want to be spending a fortune on this. Worse case we will eat at a resturant and call it a day when people are all over the resturant..Disney said that they cant really help us till we book it....I dont know if i should call back or what...can anyone give me sugestions....My DF wants me to be happy but he wants to make sure we....As in Me,,,, will eat the food that they give us....

Congrats and welcome!

I would probably do the mini reception just because you have so many people, it would be better to have a private area. As for the menus, you can probably have whatever you want, I'm not sure if the pricing differs from Wishes events, so you may need to get that directly from Disney.

I know a few brides are also arranging meals at Fulton's in DTD and are happy with how the process is going. So that's another option.

Ok i realized that i have not been posting....I finnaly downloaded my picture of my ring...It is not the best but i will try again....It is blue and beautiful...I have already gotten my wedding rings so all is done.
I went to Davids bridal and found my dress. It was so strange because the dress that i didnt think that i would like is the one i got. It is simple and me but fancy and so me. I got a blue sash to make my dress pop. I love blue and it is very me...Once i get my date for the wedding i will get my converce so that will be great. But this is the only picture that i have. I will post another one.
As far as planning i got the menues for the the catering and i picked a menue but i still want to talk to a rep so i can know what the mahor deal is... I cant wait till March....I am a planner but i dont really want to plan till i know disney makes it official...I am calm but some days i am so antzy...

This is my dress...I got it at DB... It is so not what i thought i wanted...My sis made me try it and i fell inlove....Now i just have to wait for the big day.

your dress is so pretty on you. I love dresses where the detail is in the fabric and not in tons of sequins or beading. My dress is the same way and I love it, I have a little beading along the bust and hip, but mostly it's just the gathering of fabric.

Your ring is such a bright blue, how pretty, and I think it even matches your dress sash!

Love the dress! What kind of stone is your engagement ring?!?! I have a blue topaz e-ring that I just adore! and haven't seen many blue rings used for an e-ring!! Yeah for being different

Thanks for the dress comment.... Ok the ring is a aquamarine. It is a rare one cause it is from madagascar. It is a deep blue and sometimes can be mistaken for a topaz if it is dirty or in bad light. It was expensive for a aquamarine but well worth it because many people also mistake it for a blue diamond. It is my birth stone and i worked in jewelry store for years and i never wanted a diamond and i am so so picky...

I know that the wedding is a year away and i should be thinking and planning. Yes it is exciting and all that but i dont want to plan to much till i know what and when and all that. My mother wants to go look for favors and i really dont care. I know what she will want to get and it will be the same thing that every bride gives in NJ.. A picture frame or some stupid knickKnack that ends up in the garbage a few weeks later ( made out of Crystal) . I want to know where and when and she just wants it done and over. We are not paying for the dinner so i should just relax but OMG i want to get something i like. I appreciate her and all but i feel it is a bit to early. I wanted candy but i dont want it to melt, and the wedding cant have anything Disney so i am at a loss.
And the other thing is people who are going to come to the dinner. The number is around 40 and i am happy so many people want to come i just dont want to overwhelm my parents. Ok i think my venting is over...
Oh My hair... i am starting to look over how to do my hair.. My man got me a really pretty headband from swarofski (god i hate spelling 2day) and i have to wear is...I guess i will have to get a trial done so i can see how it will work into the hair plan. I dont want my hair down and i want it in wringletts but i am worried about the heat any comments.

The good News is that after 3 years or more of Trying my sister is pregnant. This is great and the best news ever... It is so so wonderful. She will be a great mom and it is perfect ...We are going to start booking the reservations for the family and all the others that are joining us.
Still unsure who is and is not comming.

Bad news because she is pregnant my sis will probably not come because the baby will just 2 months old. I know that they can travel but she will be worried and the baby wont have all the shots. But i am Cool cause there might be a chance she can still come... My Man has not picked his best man and i dont think he will choose one....Is it bad to not have one...I will only have my sis but will that look silly....I cant leave her out cause she means the world to me...Gosh....this is all making me crazy....

In other news i am counting the days to call disney and we r getting ideas on where we want to eat and the favors....
Ok off to class....5th graders make me NUTz.....

Ok i am sorry to say but i have to push back or cancel my DISNEY WEDDING..
My sister has found out that she is having twins and only a month b4 my wedding. This is great and i am so so so happy for her but i had to make a choice. Yes my other family would be there but she is my sister and my best friend so i dont want to have a wedding without her. I know it is selfish but i think no matter how i say i would be fine i know i wouldnt be. She will be crushed and so would i. So i am going to be stopping the posts and all the excitement until we know what is happening.We might just have a small dinner here and then do a honeymoon down at disney but i really need time to get my head together and figure out a way....Good luck to u all and i will be Lurking ....
