Christening gift ideas?

A dear friend's second baby is being christened this weekend. I'd like to buy a gift today but I am at a loss over what to get! Does anyone have any ideas? Unfortunately we are on a budget so cost is a factor. Thanks for your help!

When DS was baptised he rec'd a book of children's bible stories and we really liked that. Another gift was a savings bond. Another idea is a picture frame to put the christening picture in.

I have 3 kids -- these are the gifts we've gotten:

Picture frames engraved with their name and the christening date.
Photo albums engraved wtih their name and birthdate
Piggy bank with a little change in it
Other picture frames -- My aunt got my youngest DD a really cute one, it's oval ceramic and says Jesus Loves Me This I Know around the edge
My IL's have gotten all my kids small ceramic crosses to hang on their wall. I've seen some really ugly ones, but these are all white ceramic and usually have some kind of kid thing on them (little kid praying, lamb, etc.). They're all very pretty.

If you have a Things Remembered store near you they have alot of great stuff and usually engraving is inculded in the price of the item you buy.

DS received a few different things.

Savings bond/money
Small cross with a little boy kneeling in prayer on it
Picture frame that specifically says something about baptism
Small stuffed bear that says a prayer

We appreciated the gifts, but were more happy to have everyone there to witness it.

I really liked the Precious Moments Children's Edition Bible that my daughter received for her Christening day. She also received a Baby's First Bible. It is a board book w/a carrying handle. She loves to look at that one.

I have gotten a "wall Cross" to hang over bed and I had it blessed by my Preist

very inexpenive but it was "priceless"
