Chosen as "First Family"

Kind of a funny story about our YOAMD "tag." We were entering the American Adventure to go hear Voices of Liberty before the show, along with my in-laws. As we walked in, a woman dressed just as all the others in the American pavilion asked me who I was here with, and then asked for our names. I didn't think much of it at first, until she told me we were chosen as the "First Family" and they had reserved seats for us upstairs so we could look down over the railing and watch Voices of Liberty. My FIL kept asking me, "what did you get us in to?" as though we were going to be some sideshow entertainment or something. But we just got to sit in our seats and then we were the "first family" to enter the theater and pick our seats. They did announce us and we had to wave, but otherwise, nothing too exciting. However, when we met up with SIL and BIL and their family, we very excitedly told them we'd been chosen by the dream team to be the "First Family......" They got all excited, thinking First family of what???? Then we broke the news to them. Still, we WERE chosen for YOAMD, so I guess better than nothing, right???

Technically, you had a Magical Moment, as opposed to one of the "official" YOAMD prizes. Doesn't make it any the less special, though! My wife & I had the same thing happen when we saw the American Adventure in October 2007 too!

As I recall, when I was inside the theater for American Adventure,
they announced the "First Family"
in the back row. They did wave a bit. This was sometime in early December 2007. I thought they meant the family members of the President of the USA. LOL !

I'm glad someone cleared this p for me. LOL

It sounds like a lovely magical Disney moment.
