Choosing your room

The Hilton chain now has a new feature that allows guests (at least Hilton Honors ones) to view a layout of the hotel and pick their room 36 hours out. WoW! Wouldn't it be great if Disney did that! Of course, no guarantees but if you pick it and get it, great! It might make Disney's life a LITTLE easier too.

Hahahahahaha! Great idea - but it wouldn't work at Disney. Too many rooms; too many inexperienced travelers; too many Guests with unrealistic expectations; too many Guests - the site would freeze more than it would work.

Count me as one of the few on the DIS that doesn't care to pick a room. I also don't pick rooms at hotels when I travel.

I have always been very pleased where they put me. I don't think it would make Disney's life easier if everyone started picking their rooms. There would be some that got their room choice and lots of angry people that didn't. With the request way they have now it works for most people.

Just my opinion.

I agree, picking your room would be more headaches than what they have now...I like a certain amount of surprise

So it's basically the same as Disney World where you make your requests but nothing is guaranteed? I like the way Disney World has it set up. A room assignor does the work for you after you make your requests. And all guests needs are addressed first. The wants come after that.
