Choosing time of check in

We’re planning on a day at Universal before grabbing a Lyft over to CBR. We’re mostly just going to see Harry Potter, but depending on lines and mood, we may hang around some indeterminate time at Universal before heading over.

This means I can’t predict what time we’ll be checking into CBR. Given the hot weather forecast, we might want to head over after lunch and hope we can use the pool. Or we might hang around Universal and hope for an early dinner at one of the better restaurants, heading over to CBR around 6 or 7.

Currently, I set out check in time as 7:30. But now I’m wondering if we wouldn’t be better setting our check in time to 2 or 3. And then after we get the text about our room, we can decide when to go, and tell the Lyft driver which building to take us to.

Is there any reason to not specify 2pm as our check in time, given that we might decide on the fly not to show up until 7?

Nope, I put in the earliest I expect to arrive to increase the chance of my room being ready earlier. But things can happen that cause delays (traffic, flight delays, etc) and it’s never been an issue.

Your predicted check in time really has no bearing on anything. Rooms are not guaranteed to be ready until 3pm. So set up online check in and you should get the room ready/room number text when it is ready. Then you can just decide what you want to do that day.
