Choosing the date for your wedding/vow renewal

I picked 6/22/12 because:

our first date was 1/22/10
we got engaged 1/22/11
his bday is 4/22

I waited until June so the kids won't miss school and soccer will be done and hopefully most other school (where my friend's kids go) will be done. Of course the east coast snow storm may throw a wrench into that. I am not looking forward to the June heat, but we will survive.

Hi sweetie - So glad you are considering a S/D event!!! Just a heads up (but you may already know), if you were a S/D bride, the only park in which you would not be permitted to have a photographic session in your bridal attire, is the MK. You can have a session in bridal attire in any other park, provided you use DPS, as outside photographers are never allowed inside the park.
Good luck with your decision!!

Actually I did not know that! Thanks so much for telling me. Now, s/d is looking really great. I think the part that appeals so much to me is that they don't have all the restrictions that dftw has, also having an intimate beach location and the smaller price tag sure helps! :) Thanks again. I really appreciate it!!

We chose April 13th for our VR because it was our actual anniversary date (our 20th).

The weather was perfect and believe it or not the crowds weren't that bad. The only downside was that the resorts were at "peak" I think, but we stayed using our DVC membership so it didn't really bother us.

We are having ours aboard the Disney Magic.

So we don't get to pick the date, they have certain days they will perform the ceremonies. Our "25th" is January 24th, but we are having the ceremony on the 23rd. We will have dinner at Palo on the actual anniversary.

We chose March 24 because of the beautiful weather that time of year. It is the high season but we checked ahead to the seasonal pass holder blockout dates to be sure it wasn't a blocked out week for spring break or Easter (meaning ridiculous crowds and no chance of discounts) - and it wasn't. Because it wasn't, Disney released free dining for that week and we lucked out big time by getting our guests a good deal. If I had to pick again I may have gone with October instead because prices at resorts tend to be lower and the weather is still pretty nice. November is too close to the holidays and airfaire goes up really high around then. Personally I'd avoid summer vacation like the plague. I'm in FL (2 hours south of Orlando) and it is HOT in the summer! We rarely go outside for more than 20 mins at a time. I don't know how the summer crowds do it!
