I live in California and about 10 mins from Disneyland and would love a disney wedding but i would love to get married at disneyworld. Can anyone tell me how they made the decision on having an intimate over a custom? Were people offended when they werent invited to your wedding?

Turtle51, boy, what a tough question. If you want to read my saga, click here for my story (which one of these years I hope to complete).

I live on the West Coast and knew that I wanted to renew my wedding vows in my favorite vacation spot, Walt Disney World. I began as an Intimate and quickly moved into the Custom category. When all was said and done, my FTW vow renewal exceeded my wildest dreams. Disney did an incredible job with everything. I have no regrets.

I wish you nothing but happiness. Whatever route you choose to take, I am sure it will be the right one. Enjoy!

the decision was easy for us because we wanted our families there, we have a comfortable budget & this is our once in a lifetime wedding. although we are limiting the guest list to parents, siblings, aunts/uncles, cousins & grandparents. we are having a custom wedding of 55 at the yacht club. one of the advantages of a destination wedding is the unique locale & being able to limit the guest list to those true loved ones not those obligation invites.

another possibility is if you have an intimate wedding (under 15 guests including bride & groom) you could always have a reception/ahr when you return with your whole family. do whats best & makes both of you happy with your day & financially.

Choosing b/t the two was even harder for me. We are paying for almost all of the costs of the wedding ourselves. I just figured that if I was going to shell out money, I wanted to have my close friends there. Even with adding some friends, I can't invite all of their families and kids....I know that that is sad for them, but they seem ok with it. It really all breaks down to the budget and what I can afford.
