Choosing a tour!

I really need help choosing a tour! Last year my husband and I did the keys to the kingdom tour and we loved it, this year I have researched all other tors and I can't seem to make a decision. At first I was really interested in the dive tour at Epcot, but now that I've seen the Marceline to Magic tour I'm really torn. Has anybody ever done both of those tours my concern is that we will feel like we've seen everything before on the keys to the kingdom tour. dH and I are huge Magic Kingdom fans which is why am even considering doing the second Magic Kingdom tour. Any advice comments would be greatly appreciated!

we were in the same boat, DH and I did the KTTK tour last year while on our kid-free trip and loved it. We totally planned to do another tour this year. Looking at them all, we decided we would enjoy the Backstage Magic tour. But then after reading several reviews where they pointed out you don't even get to go on any of the rides like you did with KTTK, I decided against it. It's a long day and a lot of $ to not include a couple rides, IMO. And none of the other tours really appeal to us so, sadly, we are just going to skip it. I do think the Marceline one will probably be similar to the KTTK

We bit the bullet and just booked the aqua seas tour to try something different! At the end of the day we all know Disney does it grand! I think it'll be a really fun tour! Good luck on your next adult trip I know I'm looking forward to mine!

If I had the chance, I'd do the "Magic of our Steam Trains" tour. I'd signed up for it, but then they cancelled it because they decided to close the railroad for maintenance this fall during my entire trip. :sad1:

I never even considered that one, we of as a family once a year as well and the kids would probably love that!

My DH did the Train tour twice and he loved it!

I just booked the Keys to the Kingdom Tour for us in November.
I did it once 6 years ago but I'm sure he will love it.

There are rides on KTTK? What do you get to ride? I'm trying to decide on a tour also.

Whenever I've wanted to do a tour, I just think of my favorite park and randomly pick a tour from that park. That's why I've done both the "Wild by Design" and "Backstage Safari" tours. I also did one in AK that was more a lecture thing, for AP holders only for a limited time.

Has anyone done the Epcot Dive Quest? I'm an avid diver so I figured this could be cool, especially since they require everyone to be open water certified first. My biggest concern is that there will be absolute novice divers who will need a lot of attention/help and that the actual dive part won't be that much fun.

Can anyone comment? Is the tank big enough to swim around in and actually see things?

We're doing the snorkel version of this. It's cool that we will have an air supply, my husband is a diver but I'm not. Might be similar experience minus spending time on tanks and such.

we also did HM. I've read reports of some tours including 2 rides if time permits. And I believe it's usually POTC.

First time poster, here.

I did KTTK yesterday, 7/24, solo and they took us on Jungle Cruise and Haunted Mansion. The tour guide kept talking on JC instead of the Skipper, which made if much more interesting.

I've done this tour and it's great. I'm rescue certified diver and have large aquarium experience and training so I understand your concerns about novice divers but this is not the case with the Epcot Dive Quest Tour. As you enter the building entrance everyone is given a quick tour of the area and manatees. Next everyone will go through the basic briefings, change and walk towards the aquarium. Disney staff will assist everyone with putting on your BCD and fins (if necessary). Per the instructions and once everyone is ready you'll dive down and follow the dive master for a quick tour of the tank. After that everyone is free to explore on their own within the guidelines of the rules explained during the briefing. Be aware that they are Disney divers around the tank keeping an eye on everyone (I noticed six). There is also someone taking video during the dive. After everyone dive is done, you'll shower, change and return to the briefing room to watch the video (decide if you want to purchase it) and get your Dive Quest bag and pin including with the tour.
I look forward to doing this tour again.

I didn't want to sound like a grumpy old man who can't stand novice divers, haha, I'm rescue certified myself and would love to help/assist others. I'm sure as soon as we start putting on our gear I'll naturally gravitate towards anyone that needs help and give them a hand.

Thanks for the great feedback on the tour. It sounds very well run. What kind of life is in the tank? What can you bring of your own? I think I read that a mask and snorkel is all that they would allow guests to bring. Is that true? No fins or a weight belt?

Anyway it does sound like a blast and I look forward to doing it.

Haven't done the dive tour, but I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED Marceline to MK tour. I enjoyed it more than Keys to the Kingdom. There was nothing greater than going under the Haunted Mansion to see how the ghosts in the ballroom worked! AWESOME! I got a lot more info about the Haunted Mansion on the Marceline to MK tour than on Keys to the Kingdom. The other major difference was when we went through the HM for KTTK, our guide gave us info before and after, and we just rode the ride. On Marceline to MK, our guide sat in the middle of the group and gave us great info, using the headphones, as we went through the ride.
Also had a private ride of Carousel of Progress and got a lot of great information there - the guide talked to us through the headphones throughout the whole show. Don't want to give away any info in case anyone takes the tour.
Another favorite is Wild Afrika Trek - expensive, but worth it!

No, you didn't sound like a grumpy old man at all.

In the tank you'll find sharks, eagle rays, angelfish, sea turtles, dolphins (there is a cage separating the dolphins from the other sea life including you), coral and much, much more. All you need to bring is your swimsuit, mask and snorkel but mask and snorkel are optional. Disney will provide all the rest of the dive gear and they really take care of their guest including putting on the BCD and fins (whether you need it or not). They will also do quick exchanges for tanks if necessary.

I'm sure you will enjoy this tour.
