Dr. said they are all good.

My cholesterol used to be 208 and it is down to 178.

Anything here I should worry about?

Total Cholesterol 178
Triglycerides 89
HDL 50
Coronary Risk 3.6 Norm is 3.3-4.4
LDL 110

Thanks :cool1:

I think your numbers are fine. Do you have any significant heart disease risk factors: hypertension, diabetes, family history, smoker, obesity, etc.? If so, then I'd shoot for an LDL closer to 70. Cut out trans fats, limit saturated fat as much as possible and exercise regularly. If you do have any other risk factors, do what you can to modify them.

My MIL has had a lot of problems getting her cholesterol under control and is on a medication, don't remember which, and it helps some but her dr put her on the American Diabetes diet and that has helped bring her numbers almost within the normal range in just 2 months. She has also lost 20 pounds and is continuing to lose weight, which for her was good. It is a good healthy diet so it won't hurt to try it.

I don't smoke or drink. I'm 5'10, 155 pounds so I don't think I'm overweight.
No hypertension (have always had extremely low blood pressure.) Usually, my blood pressure is 90 over 56 and has been for years. Lately, it's more within 120/80 range which is normal.

I have significant family history-1 brother had a heart attack, his twin(my other brother) died of a heart attack at 41, Dad had quadruple bypass and my sister and my mother both take medication for atrial fibrillation.

Both of my brothers who had heart problems were heavy smokers.

I have been really trying to cut out a lot of fat from my diet.

I didn't have my c-reactive protein checked but I should have. Last time, it was 3.3 which I thought was a little high.

Thanks for the reply. :thumbsup2 :sunny:

I forgot to mention, my Dad's cholesterol was 134 when he went in for his bypass. Isn't that strange? :confused3

I am going to put a little more effort into eating better. We eat many fruits and veggies and chicken but we could do better.

I need to stop going to Dunkin Donuts.
