We are booked for five nights in a two bedroom at BWV for a party of four. Two adults, two teens. We have decided to add another 5-7 nights to our stay. Based on availability and the points we have left our options are:

Two more nights in 2br at bwv then move to SSR for two nights in a 2BR
Two more nights in 2br at bwv then move to SSR for three nights in a 1BR
Add five nights in a 1BR at SSR

I am leaning toward option two, but maybe three would be better so we can be settled in.

Thoughts?

I agree, option 3 gives you more time to enjoy and less time moving. Gives you more time to check out DS and just relax.

I vote for Option 1. Personally I would hate to move from a 2BR to a 1BR villa....if necessary I would reverse it so the 1BR stay comes first. Just hate to have a little "downer" in the middle of a trip.

The 1BR option means the teens will have to sleep together in the same bed. But I would prefer that one even if I have to bring an air mattress.

option one for me, although I would prefer the two days at the beginning of the trip and then change resort

I'd do option one and waitlist the last two nights at the BWV. I prefer not to move unless it is absolutely necessary and moving to a smaller villa from a larger one is never fun, LOL.

This isnt going to help you much, but I would be torn between the amount of days at WDW vs. the moving around. My thoughts would be this...if more days are important, go for the 1 bed 1st leg of trip, then move to the 2 bed

If I'm going to do a (planned) split stay I wouldn't want to do it for any less than 5 nights at each place. I absolutely despise having to spend time packing. We did a 5 / 5 split last summer between BCV and AKV. I packed all 3 of us in one large duffle for BCV and another one for AKV to try to limit the repacking time. I put all of our swimsuits & common items & such in a carry-on that was shared between the 3 of us for both resorts. We have an Owners Locker to pack up too - that's probably my most time consuming thing because we have SOOO much stuff stored in it that it's like a jigsaw puzzle to re-pack. :rotfl:

My vote is for option 3 if the teens can handle the sleeping arrangements.

Personally I really dislike split stays. I despise the packing/moving aspect. Unlike Annie, when I do have to do them I try to do a short(2 days) up front, that way i never have to fully unpack to begin with.

However, you have left out an important aspect: what view types?

If your first two options listed are at BWV, same room type, you can just extend your reservation, which means all 3 situations require only 1 move. In that case I would say option 2.

Personally I would take option 3 over having to move twice.

I vote for Option 2.

P.S. I'm one of those weird people who love Split Stays. Purposely plan them.

I vote for option one and sticking with the 2 BR. I know that I would feel cramped moving to a one bedroom after so many days in a 2 BR I would go with comfort over one extra day. If your stay was a short one then it might be worth it to extend it by a day, but it seems you will be there long enough to do pretty much everything you want to do and have plenty of time for relaxation as well. Sounds like a wonderful trip. Enjoy!
