Can I find chocolate souffle at any restaurant at WDW? My 16 year old son discovered this on a couple of cruise vacations and loved it. We don't have any restaurants in our area that make this, so would love to be able to get it while at WDW.

Why don't you make it at home yourself? - its really easy to make.

I can't remember if anyone has a souffle on the menu at WDW - they are a difficult dessert to do if you are turning tables quickly, because you need to time them - so they don't show up on a lot of menus. But except for their unusual need to be served directly from the oven, they are easy to make.

Thanks for the quick response, however, I can't imagine making it at home. Homecooked meals are a rarity in our household. My son and husband would probably fall over dead from laughing if I said I was going to try and make this myself!!

Searching allearsnet for menus shows Chocolate Souffles at Victoria and Alberts. Occationally it will appear at signature restaurants, but none apparently have it currently (California Grill, Flying Fish and Blue Zoo have had it on menus in the past).

If anyone does want to try it, this is the Palo (DCL) recipe. I've made it myself and you do need to know some basics (how to fold in egg whites, how to keep yolks from curdling going into hot liquid), but as I said, it isn't hard to make souffle:

Bistro de Paris has always had choc souffle when we have dined there. We did have it at V&A last week and it was very good.

It isn't showing up on the current menu.

It does still show up on the Shula's menu though. $14 Chocolate Souffle for two.

If you find it, you are likely to find it at a signature place and pay those sorts of prices.

I was just mentioning to my DH the other day about how much I miss the Chocolate Souffle from Palo's!!! Thanks for the recipe, I will try it - maybe tomorrow!!!!

Random note on chocolate souffle's. Our SuperTarget just started carrying a cheese and chocolate souffles. They are in the refrigerator near the cookies and biscuits. They come in a little plastic tub set into a small souffle cup. You simply scoop out the souffle into the crockery cup and bake. The cheese was surprisingly good. The chocolate was good (as I think anything chocolatey is) but more of a lava cake to me than a souffle - close though. They cost $6 for the two servings and the souffle cups are very handy to keep on hand to hold small things.

Mix up a batch of brownie batter. Scoop into souffle or similar dishes. Bake on high for a few minutes and broil for a couple more. Basically, make it just like brownies, but keep the center from cooking. Crack open, pour some hershey's syrup and serve. As you serve it, tell everyone how expensive and difficult it is to make. You'll fool most people.

Then again, maybe the guests will just be too polite to complain, especially after you tell them how much work it was to make.
