Thank you to everyone on this board for a wonderful idea! After reading so much about the Cinderella Slipper dessert, I decided that I had to do that for my parent's 25th wedding anniversary. So I called the Beach Club Resort and was connected with their head pastry chef Stefan. He was so wonderful. I told him that I wanted to do the Cinderella Slipper, but he said that it would not hold up for a long time since it is chocolate mousse. Since I wanted the dessert waiting in their room when they got there, he suggested I do the Mickey Statue. Of course this is quite a bit more, but I guess it was very impressive. He said that it was a 6 inch white chocolate Mickey Mouse dressed with 4 strawberries that were decorated to look like tuxedos.

The Beach Club was right on with everything. I called yesterday morning and they did all of this by the time my parents arrived at 8 pm that same night!! Talk about Disney Magic! The dessert was waiting in the room when my parents got there. Of course they called me right away and were very surprised. The chef had wrote Happy 25th anniversary and my name in chocolate on the plate!

Just thought I would share about this great dessert!

That sounds great, and what a nice thing for you to do!

Thank you for sharing it with us!!

That is really neat, and so nice of you to do too.
Does anyone know if these can be delivered to rooms at the Swan?

It's a great statue. Check out the pic in my siggie! Isn't Mickey cute???

This is terrific that you did this. And Mickey looks adorable. But how can one bite Mickey's head off? ;)

The Chocolate Mickey with strawberries was $45 plus tax.

He is too adorable. We had to take him home with us. By the time we did arrive home his arms had broken off.:( I tasted part of him, and it really didn't have a good flavor. The strawberries, however, were delicious!

I ordered this for DH this past Sept. We gathered around, closed our eyes, and devoured poor Mickster! He was quite tasty, LOL!

One question I have about these dessert delicacies is how would I go about getting one of these things delivered to a resort that doesn't have a pastry chef?

We are staying at OKW next month, and while I love staying there, the culinary options are a bit lacking.

I'm not sure. I think the best bet is to call one of the deluxe resorts directly (like the GF bakery) and ask if can be delivered. Chances are, it will have to be picked up, but you never know! Good luck!
