I'm looking for a simple, yet delicious chocolate cream pie recipe. If you're willing to share I'd be very greatful!

BTW, I'm using a premade 9'' pie shell that I purchased for the grocery store. So I only need the cream recipe, no pie recipe.

Thanks,
Michelle

I don't have a regular chocolate cream pie recipe but have a REALLY good and easy coconut-caramel Pie (it's a frozen one too). I made it last year and everyone loved it.......it was very very rich though....but GOOD

You might like this one:

Ghirardelli Chocolate Pie
Yield: 6 servings

3 cup Whole milk
6 Tbsp Unsalted butter
1 cup Ghirardelli Ground Chocolate
2 Tbsp additional Ground Chocolate
6 Tbsp Granulated sugar
6 Tbsp Cornstarch
1 pinch Salt
5 Egg yolks
1 1/2 tsp Pure vanilla extract
1 9-inch baked pie shell
1 Half-pint whipping cream
2 Tbsp Granulated sugar

In double boiler, scald milk with butter. Blend Ground Chocolate with
sugar, cornstarch and salt. Using a wire whip, beat chocolate mixture
into hot milk. Stir constantly for 5 minutes, or until filling begins
to thicken. Mix a small amount of hot filling with egg yolks, then
pour yolks into filling. Continue cooking a few minutes, stirring,
until thick enough to hold a shape. Add vanilla. Pour into baked pie
shell. Cover with plastic wrap touching surface to prevent film. Top
with whipped cream, beaten with 2 tablespoons sugar.

We just make cook-n-serve pudding and fill the pie shell then serve with whipped cream. I can't wait..........

and on the holidays and on some Sundays I make jello sugar free pie COOK filling.......and then use the \whipping cream for us glutons and the cool whip free for her....my grandkids have this pie and no one knows the difference.......it is very good.......I also cook it for regular size pies in the microwave....sooooooo easy and still thickens up like on top of the stove......my husband makes our holiday pie in my great grandmothers stone ware pie plate.....it is huge .....we use 6 pkgs of pie making.....or 12 lbs of apples.....or 14 eggs for custard......the crust is usually a three pkg one

Silly me...that's what we do too...I didn't KNOW there was actually a RECIPE!!!!!

Are you looking for something *gourmet* or something more simple?

My kids love the Chocolate Dream Whip Pie that I've made before. I used it for my son when he was allergic to eggs. The recipe is on the box but basically it is one envelope of Dream Whip mixed with milk and two boxes of instant pudding. Then you top it with some regular whipped cream. I always add some chocolate shavings or sprinkles for effect. Oh, the best part? The chocolate oreo crust. Very simple, very cream, very chocolatey, and yummy. But not what I'd call "gourmet."
