Chip time vs Gun time and the qualify times

To qualify, does it go by chip time or gun time? My chip time was 3:15 for the 1/2 but the gun time was 3:34. I'm hoping the pic stops didn't do me in!

Also, for next year on the DVC form it said you need proof if you're going to finish 2:15 or under and online it's 2:45 or under for the half, I think I'll be able to do it in 2:30 and I might try the Goofy too. I don't want to start in the last wave, so I'm not sure what is "safe" to put down without any proof besides this last race.

The chip time is what's used for placement. Print a copy of it off of the race results & send it in with your DVC entry. Go ahead and mark on the entry your predicted time & let them figure it out.

FYI, on this years entry, I think it said you needed proof of a sub-2:30 finish, so I just marked in 2:30. I was placed in Corral D, second wave, which is exactly where I wanted to be. Corral C would have been a bit better, but it made no real difference in the end.
