Does anyone have any suggestions on where I can find a "Chip" costume from Beauty and the Beast? My DD's dance recital is doing the ballet and she was chosen to be Chip, however we are in need of a costume. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

P.S. She is 11 years old, so we are looking for a child's costume

Search google for costume rental companies- many rent out theatrical costumes. I am probably putting on Beauty and the Beast Jr. with my students next year, so I've been looking as well!

Many of the children's versions I've found have a little girl in a white leotard and tights, white shoes, and a large teacup cut out hanging around her neck or a teacup looking thing help up by shoulder straps that goes all around her body. There is also the version that is a big cart with a small cup on top, and Chip (the kid) sits inside the cart and just sticks their face through the hole in the cup! :rotfl:

I was cast as Mrs. Potts in our community theater production of Beauty and the Beast last year, and we rented all of the enchanteds' costumes (with the exception of Babette - she provided her own dress). Our Chip costume was a pair of puffy pantaloons, a peasant shirt, a vest, and the teacup. The teacup was a really uncomfortable hat (according to the girl who played Chip) with a "saucer" that went around the neck. This allowed Chip mobility, as she was also one of our better dancers and we needed her in some of the dance numbers...

Before we saw the costume, we debated on using a sandwich board type costume...one that went to just below the hips so the legs were free to move. If you want, I can check with my director and get the name of the rental company she used...
