We are doing an Orlando weekend before our WDW trip and want to go to the sing along at FW. Will we be able to park there or do we need to take a bus from DS?

I have recently read, secondary to the construction, that parking is now only allowed for Fort Wilderness guests

haven't been since construction has started but even if you do drive you will have to take an internal bus to center of campground as only parking in that area is for golf carts

I just did this on a trip where we weren't even going to any of the parks and weren't staying at any of the resorts. I just wanted to do the character dinner at Artist's Point at WL. We parked at Wilderness Lodge and took the boat out. No charge for parking. I am not sure if we weren't charge for parking because we were had dinner there but they didn't seem to have any way to even know which car was ours. No one took a plate number and I wasn't a guest of any other resort. And frankly there didn't appear to be any system or people looking for you to pay for parking. I'd check with WL cast members to see if you can do this on your schedule.

It was lovely. The boat was like a part of the charm of the whole evening. And we happened to watch the fireworks coming back by boat to the car too.

Leave time to navigate the internal FW bus system. We had a bit of a time because CM kept giving us different directions. It's likely all those directions were correct just different ways of going about getting there. Make sure you KNOW when the singalong takes place. Timing changes according to the seasons. There seemed to be some confusion about it. But everyone was really helpful.

You weren't charged for parking because you were not an overnight guest. Nothing to do with having eaten there.

Interesting. I assumed when people said you have to pay for parking, they meant for any visit, not just overnight.

Thanks!

Guests visiting any resort during the day or evening are not charged to park. However during specific periods: Holidays, construction or during conventions that may be hosted at any of the resorts that have convention facilities or when the parking faculties are full. You may be turned away unless you have and ADR or a Hotel reservation.

All of the parks charge for parking on a daily basis. The hotels began charging for overnight parking for any reservation made after March 21, 2018.
