China 2017 Hotel Change

I have just received an email from ABD that they have changed our hotel in Beijing from the Peninsula to the Rosewood. We are on the 6/4/17 trip. Does anyone know if this is a positive or negative?

That's funny, because I got a new Hotel confirmation letter this morning, and wondered why. It still lists the Peninsula Bejing.

I know this doesn't answer your question but thought I would share. We are on our Germany ABD right now and when we asked about a previous guide Jason from BSM in 2014 they said he is doing the China ABDs now. We really liked him.

It looks like it's an across-the-board change. The ABD website now lists the Rosewood as the Hotel for Beijing.

Okay, good to know. At first I thought it was the Hong Kong hotel, which would have been a huge disappointment.

The Peninsula is being refurbished.

The Peninsula needs to be refurbished. Nice lobby, mediocre rooms. It was my least favorite hotel in China in 2014. The Rosewood looks nicer. I'm looking forward to staying there in 2017. So, overall positive.
