Child's AP and Discounts

Can I use a child's AP to get AP discounts? My AP has expired and I don't plan to renew, but my DD's AP is still good until May 5th. I'm hoping for an AP discount on MNSSHP tickets when they are released, and I'm wondering if I can use her AP to get the discount if it's offered before her AP expires.

Nope, that loophole was closed a few years ago. If the AP isn't old enough to actually make the reservations, they can't use their AP to get any discounts. A lot of people were buying one child's AP, at a much lower cost, in order to get the discounts. So, now you have to have an adult, full price, AP in order to qualify for discounts.

Oh. Well it's not worth buying a $400+ AP to get $30 or so in discounts!!

Also, if youy have an AP-discounted entry ticket when you come through the gate the turnstile will remain locked and the Greeter will gt a "check ID" message and will ask to see the currently valid AP.

I didn't have that happen last year for the P&PP, and I bought those tickets with an AP. I don't think they do that for the hard-ticketed events unless that's something new since September 2007. I just wanted to know if I could use a child's AP to get the discount, and it looks like I can't. Thanks anyway!

My seasonal AP expires on 9/3/08. I was not planning to renew, but to stay for the MNSSHP on 9/5. Does that mean I can't buy the HP tickets in advance at the AP rate (assuming I can get the AP rate for that party)?

ETA: I should add that we'll be there 8/30-9/6 to finish out our SP with the bounceback deal from last year.

If you buy the MNSSHP tickets in advance, I think you can print them at home so I can't see why you wouldn't be able to use it after your AP expires.

The AP rate is actually only about a $3 discount for MNSSHP & MVMCP if you purchase in advance. They advertise it as a $10 discount but that's off of the same day price, not the advance purchase price.
