Childs Annual Pass

Just been reading through all the rules about buying an Annual Pass. I believe you can buy it in advance and get a 'voucher' which you activate when you arrive at WDW. My daughter will be 10 when we travel - is it possible to buy the pass at the child rate while she is still 9 and then activate it at a later date(4 months later) when she's 10? It's not clear about this in the rules.

If your child will be ten when she walks through the gates, she'll be an "adult" and will require the adult AP. I have that same voucher (adult) for my now 9yo daughter for a future trip. I just wish I knew when that would be. (sigh)

we just activated ours this past weekend. the cm asks for their birthdate at the window ~ just fyi

my daughter was 10 that day (her surprise birthday trip) but my other daughter was a bargain at 9...........lol

one thing I thought was interesting was the finger pass is only for adults. my 9 y/o wanted to do it................ in due time

Do you know if a child's annual pass gets your free parking?

One of the benefits is free parking for the passholder. Not sure if that is for a child since they cannot drive.

I know that on various occasions I've had the child AP in hand as I go through parking, and I've never had to search through the pack for the adult AP. HTH

My DD will be 9 when I activate her annual pass in June for our first trip. However, she will turn 10 at Thanksgiving shortly before our Christmas trip. Do I buy the child's annual pass, the adult pass or upgrade half way through the year?

If your child is 9 the first time they use their AP, then you pay for a child's pass for that year. We are going next month, and ds will get his new AP. He will turn 10 in August, but he'll be grandfathered in at his old rate until his pass expires next March. I think that they will reissue an adult pass for your child once they have their b-day if you ask.

In the case of AP/PAP's, they will usually tell you to continue to use the old one until it expires. They will replace it with an adult pass if your child makes a production out of it but they prefer to have you continue using the old one.
