Ok my youngest daughter is 2yrs old so I do not have to buy her a ticket for entrance into the parks is my understanding. Now my question is when I get to the line and the rest of us hand in tickets, do I have to show my daughters Birth Certificate or anything to prove she is under 3yrs old. She will be 2.5yrs old in May and was just curious how they stop people with a 3 yr old from saying the child is actually 2 to avoid paying entrance to the park??

Very good question. We went when our daughter was one, two, and will be going back in March, now that she's 3. She is very small for her age, so I know we could get away with saying she's still 2, although we never would even consider trying. No one ever asked us or anything, except when booking. I suppose it's the honor system?

Disney is very trusting in terms of this. You do not need a birth certificate. They will just take your word for it.:flower3:

We've never needed any proof of age for our kids, and they've been there many times. I've taken the kids to the DMV and had 'under 21' id's made for them. For about $10, they have a photo id with name, address and photo. Works great for traveling!

We took our DS in Nov, one month before his 3rd birthday. We never had a problem with him not having a ticket. One CM at the MK gate asked how old he was, but that was it. I wouldn't worry about it - have a great time!:thumbsup2

I was one of those bad moms who took my daughter who just turned 3 but said she was 2 at the gate...
Never once was I asked again inside....

(Can't believe I admitted that...I've seen people blasted here for less than that...LOL)

I have a funny story.. When we went in 1999, my younger son was 2 but my older son was 3 1/2.. The younger one has always been a very verbal child and at the time was a HUGE toddler- he was bigger than his brother. Well, the CM did ask him how old he was and he started screaming ( top of his lungs-e still screams all the time at 10 LOL), I'm "FREE", I'm "FREE".. I'm saying NO- he's two.. He screams louder.. Then, the 3yr old starts getting hysterical and starts screaming " I"M 3, YOU'RE 2".. The CM just waved us through but I wonder what she was really thinking...LOL.. We were quite the scene.

We just got back from a wonderful week at WDW. My youngest DD will turn 3 in a couple weeks, but she's big for her age. She definitely looks at least 3, but we were never questioned at the gate or at character meals. (Although it did throw me a bit when they'd say "OK, you have 2 adults, a child and an infant?" My first thought was No, I don't have an infant... but in Disney's eyes, she's still my baby.:lovestruc )

Thanks for the responses.

Another question along the same lines, is the ticket an actual ticket? We are doing a 5 day base ticket...no hopper but is it something I have to bring everytime I go to the park or do they give you a card, or scan your finger or something??

You will need your "ticket" every time you enter a park, even if it is a re-enter. (One ticket for the whole 5 days.) It will be the size of a credit card. All people 10 and older will also have a finger scan each time they put their ticket in.

Just a clarifiacation on this: Last Sept. we went with my 10 YO, 4YO, DH and myself. 10YO had a adult ticket, but they had ME scan my finger on her tcket instead of her. They told me "we don't make kids do the finger scan". :confused3 So each day, I scanned my finger and pushed both of our tickets thru the machine.
