Children's Meal Question

I see on all the menus that children's meals are for ages 3-9. I have an 11 year old who eats almost nothing, a 13 year old (who looks 15) who eats only a little more, and a 14 year old who for dinner I would order off the adult menu but only picks at breakfast. We have 3 days at Yacht Club without the dining plan. Can I order off the child's menu for them when we eat? I hate to waste the money on food that will not be eaten. Of course when we eat at a buffet I would pay the adult price but what about when we order off the menu?

My understanding is that if the Kid's Meal says it's for ages 3-9, it's for kid's aged 3-9. However, if you are comfortable ordering it anyway & the CM's don't specifically ask you how old your kid's are, that would be your business.

If it were me personally, I would be more apt to tell the kids to order two adult meals & split them between the three of them or order appies instead of a whole adult dinner.

Good luck though with what ever you decide & have fun!

From all the posts I have read you can do one of two things if you are on the DP:

Order kid's meals and pay out of pocket and then save the extra TS credits and use them elsewhere.

Ask at the server if your child (ren) can get a kid's entree as they don't like the adult entree. Sometimes people have been given a larger portion of the kid's meal.

If you are doing CS meals:

I would personally buy an adult meal and let them split it. There are lots of choices in the adult menus, very limited for the childrens meals.

You can always get ice water for free!

Your kids can order of the kid menu with out any problem:goodvibes . You MIGHT be charged a slightly higher price than what the kids meal is listed at, but only because they may also give you a slightly larger portion(more in line with your kids age than a 3 year old). Really when you are not on the DDP it hardly even matters. If you are on the DDP it is probablly still possible to get a kids meal, but you will be charged an adult credit.

Thanks everyone. To clarify, I am only asking about when we are NOT on the dining plan (I understand that my kids are all considered Adults on dining). Also, I do not want larger portions since the reason we would order a child's meal is because they will not eat more than that. Sharing one adult meal is not an option since all are picky eaters who like different things (plus the restaraunt is making more money if I order 3 kids meals at $7.49 than one adult meal at $14.99).

We will just ask before ordering to make sure it is okay. I never have a problem when we go out at home so I don't see why there should be a problem here. After all I am not asking for more food at a lower price so who cares if it's a 9 year old or a 13 year old who only wants a small portion. Quite honestly I am glad my children know their limits and are not wasteful.

Thanks for your responses.
