I am looking at magazine subscriptions for my children and some other children's Christmas gifts.

DD is 7, DS is 2 1/2 and DN is 4. Any suggestions?

I would like to get the ones that come each month and not 6 a year.

Which ones are your favorites?

These are Canadian magazines but I love them.

For ages 2-5 Chirp
6-9 Chickadee
9-12 Owl

I like these because they teach the kids interesting stuff and they're learning at the same time.

nick and nick jr. (don't think they come every momth but the kids read them over and over, do the projects in them, share them with older and younger sibs).

My almost 6 year old gets Jack and Jill which she really likes, the disney princess magazine and highlights

For the younger two, my kids' favorite has been the Sesame Street magazine that comes free with a Parening mag subscription. Liked it way better than Nick Jr, personally. It is hard to find kids ones that come every month. We have also really liked Your Big Back Yard and Zoobooks, but neither of them were every month.

I was going to mention all of these! You beat me to it. :sunny: My kids loved these magazines. I believe Ladybug is about animals, directed at 4-7yr olds. Ranger Rick is an animal magazine directed at the 7-12 yr crowd. Zoobooks are wonderful, but my kids found them a little overwhelming until they were around 9-10. And who doesn't like Highlights? :cool1:

We had all of these except Ladybug, and they were great (also Sesame Street that was mentioned).

You might also look at Clubhouse and Clubhouse Jr. on the Focus on the Family website.

If you have a horse lover, Young Rider is great.

We LOVE Ladybug magazine. THe oldest may be ready for Cricket. (I believe that is for 6-8 yo's).

No ads--stories of all topics and regular features. A mix of poetry and prose, funny and age appropriate serious/educational topics. A craft is included each month that tears out and you usually cut and assemble it.

If National Geographic World still exists (the kid version of NG) I highly recommend it! (I haven't heard anything about it in a long time)

Ranger Rick is a HUGE hit with my son. I highly recommend it for any animal loving kid.
My kids just convinced me to reinstate their expired National Geographic Kids.
Jack & Jill, I loved that magazine I used to get the cast-offs from a neighbor kid - she never did any of the games/puzzles. I loved it.

Highlights - do they still have Goofus & Gallant?
