We are celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary as part of our upcoming trip. My husband and I have a reservation for dinner at Narcoosee's. We plan to send our DS (he will have just turned 9) to the activity center at the Polynesian that night. Our reservation isn't until 8:30 pm, but I have read that the kids eat dinner at 5:30 or 6:00 at the centers, so we are planning to drop him off and then go to Trader Sam's for drinks prior to our dinner over at the GF.

How far in advance do they start accepting reservations for the Activity Centers? How far in advance do you typically book? What else do we need to know since this will be our first time utilizing this service?

Thanks in advance for the advice and information!

We've used a number of the activity centres now. At Lilo's, it's a flat rate for the night, so we drop off kiddo at opening time (4:30 or so) and pick him up around 8:30. They can choose their dinner and snacks at checkin, and if they aren't staying until 10 for second snack, they can take them home. They have characters come by that aren't guaranteed- we've had Captain Hook and Chip n Dale. When they were first testing the new programming, our son said they didn't do many activities; however, as of May, they did all kinds of fun stuff including crafts and cooking at Sandcastle Club so I'd imagine it's the same. Last time we did Lilo's, we were one of many parents coming to pick up our kids while clutching assorted pearls and zombie heads from Trader Sam's .

You can book 180 days in advance and it is prepaid. I like to book early because spaces are limited and you just never know, but I've been told by the CMs that they often don't fill up. It depends on the time of year. You will all have a great time!

Do you know if they are all a flat rate now? Do you mind giving the flat rate?

Not at all! I'm not sure if the others have followed suit yet...but for those two I mentioned, the rate is $55 and 15% DVC discount for those so inclined ;).
