Children under 3 on the DDP ?

We leave in 4 days for WDW and we have the DDP. DD2 (turning 3 next week) usually gets her own kids meal or splits a kids meal with her brother when we get out. The DDP states "children under 3 may share from an adult's plate." Now I wouldn't usually have a problem with this, as she does feel entitled to my plate and drink on a regular basis. But yesterday I was in bed all day with a 102 fever and chills and I have tonsilitis and sinusitis. Feeling a little better today, since I'm on antibiotics. Will they let you have an empty plate and separate utensils for the under 3 child who is "sharing", or do they truly have to share your plate? I wouldn't want her to catch this illness--or any other, for that matter. Does it make a difference between counter service, table service, and buffets? Thanks in advance for your advice.

We have traveled with an under 3 on a few occasions and they've always supplied a small plate and utensils without our even asking. I am sure that there would be no problem if you asked.

Hope you're feeling much better when you travel!! :goodvibes

Thanks, feeling better today. Anyone else with advice on dining with an almost 3yr old?

Yes. If your party is on the DDP & you are traveling w/ an "under 3" and wish to order them their own kids meal (or anything else on the menu, for that matter), you will pay OOP for that meal. Kids meals are generally pretty cheap. :) At buffets, they do eat free.

Yes, if they want their own entree, you are able to order a meal especially for them and pay out of pocket. Generally they're $4.49 at CS and $7.59 at TS. There are a few exceptions (Tutto pops to mind, as well as an additional $2 for steak at Le Cellier), but generally those are the prices for kids meals.

They brought our little guy his own drink and plates and spoons.

we are actually planning alot of buffets so there is more food to choose from for our 2 year old..
