There are no fees for 2 yr olds? Will I need proof of some sort. My daughter is 2 1/2. Just wondering if she can get in the parks for free and what I will need to prove she isn't 3 thanks!

yes, they are free and we've never been asked for proof...if you booked a package, they ask for the kids ages and I suppose they can track this and I think , though I can't remember exactly when, that they do ask for birth dates. This way they "know" how old your child is. have a blast!

We went in October when DS was 2 1/2 and he is on the tall side for his age. He looked about 3 1/2 or 4. I didnt have any problems at all. I did go to the DMV and get him a State Issued ID to have on hand just in case. I didnt need it but it is comforting knowing I have it for him. I carry it in my purse all the time now. It wasnt very expensive - I think $15

My DD will be 1 month away from her 3rd b-day when we go in November. Based on comments from other DISers on a similar topic a few months back, I have decided to make a photocopy of her birth certificate to carry with me. Others told of stories that they were asked and had no proof of childs age and were told to purchase a ticket. When they got home and could send Disney proof, their money was refunded. DD is small for her age but why take the chance :confused3 When we get to the park entrance, I just want to start my day and have fun! :thumbsup2

Yep, that's why we're going about one week before dd's 3rd birthday! Decided to sqeeze in one last "free" trip. I do plan on carrying a small b.c. just in case. She is very tall and talks way beyond her age. :thumbsup2

Generally if they think the child is over 3 they will direct the question to the child... you know get on their level and say "so how old are you"... kids are more than happy to get a great big smile and say "this many"... O the cute things we teach our kids... or they will ask what year the child was born, catch you off gaurd, if you are telling the truth you will answer without hesitatition, if you are not you will stumble.

It is not a bad idea to have a copy of the birth certificate as mentioned, but it is usaually not necessary, the CM's are trained to take your word for it, unless the kid is obviously like 8 years old and shoved in a stroller (it happens)

I agree completely - teach your children to answer their correct age and name when asked in your presence... Our daughter looks much younger than her age (she is almost 7, looks 5) and for admissions people are always double checking by asking her how old she is.

And when we went through the security checkpoint at Orlando Airport, the guard asked her what her name is as an identity check!

:goodvibes My dd does the exact same thing!

My DD first trip was when she was 2 and she got in free, now she is 9 soon to be 10 in Nov..

When anyone asks my son how old he is, he hold up 5 fingers very proudly. He is only 3 :rotfl: He just wants to go to Kindergarten this year and be in school like his brother and he has to be 5.
Everyone beleives him because he is so tall for his age and look at me like I am nuts when I say he is only 3

Like the saying goes ... out of the mouth of babes
