    I know have you ever heard of such a thing?? DD8 does not want to go in October!! DS5 loves it and can't wait to go back. (We were there last April.) DD says it is too hot, and there are too many people. True....but DH and I love it!! Does anyone else have a kid like mine or am I the lucky minority?? I am mortified, that I have raised such a princess!! princess:

My best friend asked her 2 kids if they wanted to go when they were about 11 & 13 and they said no! :scared1:

Obviously they are aliens! :lmao:

Two years ago, DS14 said he didn't really want to go because we were going every year (now we go twice a year! ). I was so mortified. :scared1: My suggestion would be to let her plan, or at least help plan, your trip. Maybe do something special for her - like a trip to BBB or the family magic tour, something special that she can look forward to. Once you're there, I'm sure she'll enjoy herself once again. Good luck!

We lucked into a timeshare swap with Disney for this year. I didn't think it was going to happen but jumped at the chance, given the small exchange fee + dvc charge.

When we told our DS3, his response was "But I like the Mickey Boat better!"

Last year we did 4 night DCL cruise and 4 nights at WDW. It is really hard to be 3 and not get everything. :^)

LOL....I know I think I must be seriously spoiling them...problem is I LOVE it myself so much! We go just as much for DH and me, as we do them!! I usually do a "treat" bag for the way down, with Disney activities and snacks for the car. I really do put a ton of effort into the prep, but she doesn't really get that into it! They both love the waterparks, but she has no desire to go to the MK.

Ooh...luckily, an 8 year old does not get a vote on our family vacation. ;) Or, you could do a vote--3 against 1, it looks like.

When dd was that age, she'd often tell me she didn't want to go somewhere (although never WDW.) She'd always be happy and have fun when we arrived although I'd have to listen to whining all the way there.

She's 17 yo and still loves to go to WDW.

My jaw is still on the floor.

The 12 Yr. old DSS didn't want to go because it is for little children. Then we forced him last June and we have a nice picture of him with his face resting on Jamine bossom! He loves Disney princesses and the rock N roller coaster.

However, he will not agree to miss a single day of school to go to Disney. His teachers all agree that he is a perfect student and may go but he wants perfect attendance.

I have a horrible confession to make:

I'm the mother of a Disney hater

Yep, my personal shame. My DS15 would rather have his eye poked out than be drug to WDW. He hates rides, is too cool for the characters etc. The only reason we convinced him to go on the cruise is that there is an arcade and pool :rotfl:

My kids (23, 19, 16 & 14) no longer want to go to Disney. It just isn't cool anymore:scared1: To get my fix this year I'm taking my niece (4). She and auntie are going to have a great time!

Oh....I am glad I am not totally alone! And no she doesn't get a vote. She WILL be going, and yes she will probably have fun when she gets there. BUT there will be whining involved. I am sure of it. So when you see me, I will be the one with the 8 year old, in the rented stroller because I just can't handle it anymore!

What a LUCKY niece!
I DREAD the day my 14 yr old says NO, right now, I have him HOOKED like me, his crazy mom, LOL!!

THANK GOD, someone else is dealing with this issue. I thought I was the only one!! My DD5 says she doesn't want to go to Disney.
Thank God DD10 is excited about going....
The reason DD5 says she doesn't want to go is because I take to many pictures of her (& she doesn't like to get her picture taken LOL).
I told her I won't take any pictures this trip, and she said mommy you ALWAYS take pictures LOL....

We should all plan our trips at the same time next year, then gather all the Disney hating kids in one room, lock the door and let them whine together

I have one too! He is 16 and admittedly has been many many times since he was 3 (my parents live in Orlando), so he says he's tired of it. When I talk about planning a trip he says "AGAIN??" Of course when he went in February of this year with his HS Marching Band, it was the greatest trip EVER. :sad2:

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Yes, yes, yes let's do it!!!! I can't believe that this trip will cost us a bizillion dollars (which I feel is worth every penny), and my kid is going to whine the whole time!! Grrr...I'll pull my Minnie ears down, so I don't have to hear it!!!!

That happened to me this past year with DD8. She and I went on mother daughter trips in both 2004 and 2005. Then in 2006 DS was old enough to join. And I was lucky to go to a convention in June 2007 and took the kids and took them again for our annual fall trip in 2007. So she's been 5 times. She started complaining a few months ago to please not plan another Disney vacation this summer. That we should see something new. It made me think that something else would be nice. So we are going to Vero Beach so I get my Disney fix and we get to relax at the beach. And I'm debating buying passes to Universal for a day or two. Problem is I just don't get excited by the thought of Universal like I do Disney so holding off.

I got a 40% off room code so was able to book the Disney trip for the fall. She complained about that so I told her she could stay home and I'd just take her brother 4 who is very excited to go to WDW. That got all sorts of tears and I have not heard any complaining since.

I tried telling her I would leave her home with Grandma and just take DS5 and she was like o.k. WTHeck!! I can't do it though...it is a family vacation!
