I know there is a thread going about the new bobsleds. My question is specific to how do children do in these? My dd7 LOVES this ride, but it was nice in the old bobsleds because she could sit with DH or I and we could hold on to her, as it can whip you around pretty good, I feel like I really need to support her a little. Can this not be done in the new sleds??? She is tall enough for the height requirement, just feel like a child can't really prevent themselves from getting whiplash!

My DD just turned 8 and I understand where you are coming from.

I have to believe that Disneyland would never put children at risk and that their height requirements and safety measures errr well on the side of caution when they calculate these things out.

My biggest fear at the moment is California Screamin'.. DD wants to go on it ( with her daddy ) but I'm absolutely terrified at the thought of her going on the ride. I seriously think I might cry when they do the countdown. :crazy2:

I was a little nervous about my 7-yr-old riding Screamin' as well. She was about 49" when she rode it for the first (and second, and third, and fourth) time last trip. She did fine. She's on the thin side of average and didn't even come close to sliding out. ;)

OP: there's no way to hold your little one on the ride now. Each seat is separate. It's much like the seats on Space in MK--if you're at all familiar with those. There is much less leg room than before. I personally don't really like them, but I think your DD7 will be fine.

Mine is just shy of 50" and is definitely on the thin side of things - maybe 45lbs after a good meal :p

If weight was an issue I'm going to assume there would be a height AND a weight requirement.

I see that you guys will be down almost at the same time as us - have fun!!!!!

OP - basically we have to entrust our little ones to the safety measures in place. Even those swings that lift up worry me but I think that is just my nature.
