I haven't seen to many reviews on the Brown Derby! any comments would be appreciated. Also my daughter is 11 and will be paying adult prices - for most of the dining plan she will be ordering from the adult menu, but at the Brown Derby she liked the kids menu - is it o.k. for her to order off of that?

Thanks

We used to eat here all the time when we were youngern (being on the old Grand Plan allowed us to eat anywhere, o how I miss that!). Anyway I always loved the food, esp the Cobb salad! Now I havent been in years so it could have changed but this was a must every time we went!

I have never seen any problems of anyone ordering of the kids menu. I have seen a couple of posts where they would give double portions and charge dobule price. However, Often my wife would order from the Childrn's menu with no problem. This was especially true at the Concourse Steakhouse where they had a 4 oz filet.

The only time she must be charged as an adult is at a buffet or other all you can eat meal. At Table or Counter Service you are charged for what is ordered from the menu.

I took my oldest there when he was three. He behaves well in restaurants. He nibbled appetizers. It was not his favorite place but I had enough of Pooh by then (we ate three times at CP). I made sure he was not tired or cranky when we went and had things to do that were quiet. He was not the only child there by any stretch. Disney is very tolerent of children in "adult" restaurants.

This was one of our best meals last visit! SO good!!!

I don't think your waiter will tell your 11 year old that she can't eat a child's selection ;) No worries!

We always go to the Brown Derby for lunch with the kids when we're in Disney. My oldest loves the Shirly Temples! They are 3, 6 & 11 and all eat off of the children's menu. They offer things to color & the big half circle booths are perfect for a cozy family lunch - with the parents at each end of course. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. But if you have any lingering concerns - try the 50's Primetime - that place is so much fun - my kids love the 50's Primetime the most.

We have always had a great meal there and have made reservations again this year. I don't know about the menu's but one year we had a "child" that ordered off the adult menu on the meal plan and they allowed it. You can't help but enjoy a meal there.

Well lets face it kids are thw norm at WDW, so why should BD be an exception. I don't want to start a debate on the dining plan, but if you are not on the plan (and maybe even if you are) your DD shouldn't have a problem ordering from the kids menu. Have a great time!
