Childcare clubs at monorail resorts

Need advice and guidance. We are planning our anniversary dinner for the California Grill. We are staying at PO Riverside. We have a four year old. At first we thought, no brainer, we'll put her at the kids club at the Contemporary. But I'm wondering. Has anyone used this? I know it is small, and they have a 4-hour maximum. I mean, it won't take four hours for dinner but I wanted some freedom to stay for a drink, etc. So what about the Poly or Grand F? Too much trouble to drop her and then go for dinner? Our transportation plan was this: We have no car, so we would bus it to the MK, then monorail it to the Contemp for dinner. On the way home, we were just going to get a taxi to simplify things, since the kid will be sacked out. Does having putting her at, say, the Neverland Club, complicate this? How easy/hard is it to get between these resorts by monorail? And how late does the monorail run? (I kind of like the idea of a different resort, because we could eat at the Grill and explore/have drinks at the other resort before getting the kid.)

Finally, could anyone tell me a little about the clubs? Is it hard for a young child who knows no one to enjoy herself? My kid is neither incredibly outgoing or shy-- she participates when given plenty of encouragement. Do you think she will like it?

Any advice, thoughts are welcome.

I'm sorry I can't help much with the first part of your question. I don't think it will complicate it having her at a different resort. The monorail doesn't take that long. Plus, if she is at the Poly, you can take a romantic walk along the beach after dinner (maybe even watch the fireworks).

We took our niece and nephew (6 & 8) to the Neverland Club when we went out last year. They had a BLAST! I don't think your 4yo will have any problem finding something to do. The kids bowled, colored, made crafts, watched movies and played video games. They also had a kids buffet with chicken fingers/mac & cheese, cookies, etc.

The room was large with different areas (tables for crafts, a sitting area to watch the movies and another area with a computer and Nintendo 64. They were with 9 other children that evening. If they get tired, the have mats, blankets and pillows so they can sleep.

This is the one thing the kids specifically asked to do again. When we take them next year, they will probably go twice.

Hope this helps you.

Is the food included with the cost or do you buy it extra? If the monorail is easy enough, I am inclined to just do Neverland Club, since the time limit at the Contempory spooks me a bit. I think the kid will do fine at the Club, but I am a little anxious because it will only be our second night. Hope she likes it. I just can't wait for an adult night at CA Grill!

Yes, the food is included with the cost. They also get juice and a snack around 9-9:30 if I'm remembering right.

Enjoy your night out! :)
