I know this has been asked. Can you upgrade a child dinning credits to adults and pay the difference? Or would it be cheaper to just say the child is an adult and use adult tickets? This would be for free dinning.

You can lie about it and put down your child's age on your reservation to show the child is ten or older. You will then have to buy adult tickets for the child.

And if you go to Disney again, they will have a record of this presumed birthday.

I know i could do that, but would it be any cheaper and can you upgrade a child's dinning to an adult dinning and keep everything else as a child? This girl is 7 or 8.I am pretty sure this is going to be a one time deal for this family. they travel all over the world. this child has lived in a few countries, and I am sure she is beyond mac &cheese and hot dogs/chicken nuggets. This is why I ask.

She is either a child or an adult - she cannot try to be both. So, either a child ticket and child DDP or an adult ticket and adult DDP. We didn't have to lie to upgrade to adult - just told the reservation person what we wanted (now, she may have "lied" to the computer, to make it happen - I don't know).

It won't be any cheaper than just leaving the child a child, because you'll have to buy an adult ticket. This can't be done unless the child is registered as 10 years old, and 10 year olds must have adult tickets.

On the other hand, if it's free dining and the parents aren't going to upgrade the dining, their only extra expense is for the adult park ticket, so they should do the math and see if they are willing to pay it.

We did this on our last trip for my middle son when he was 8. We didn't have to lie, just told the reservation agent what we wanted to do. We did have to upgrade his ticket to adult price but it was worth it to us. My son has never been into typical kids food and enjoyed having the adult variety to choose from. My daughter will be turning 9 on our next trip and we asked her if she wanted to upgrade but she prefers the kids meal choices.

Maybe instead of messing with changing the dining plans she could just order what she wants off the menu and pay out of pocket. We did that for a few things because my DS5 wanted soup and whatnot from the regular adult menu. I dont think it is against the rules to order what you want if you pay out of pocket for it.
