My son is going to be 10 in August. We are planning on going to DIsney in October. My question is: Can he use a child ticket as long as it is bought before he turns 10? How do they check a child's age anyway?

Thanks,
Marsha

You must use the ticket based on the child's age at time of the park visit.

As for knowing the age, Disney is relying on your honesty. Also, I have heard of CM asking the child how old they are. Are you willing to ask you son to lie?

I may be wrong, but I think you could use the ticket. I was told tickets don't expire and if you have a child's ticket and return when he is no longer a child, you still use the ticket. What you want to do sounds a little dishonest, guess it's up to you.

No, I am not saying I am going to ask my son to lie. I wouldn't do that. Thats why I am asking if anyone knows the stipulations. I know that I read where people use days off a child's hopper pass later on even if the child is then over 9. I guess I will call Disney and ask if noone knows. I am buying the tickets in the next few months either way.

I'm pretty sure the ticket must have been used by the child while he/she was under 10 y.o. in order to be allowed to use it when they are over 9. Otherwise, everyone would go out and buy child hoppers and hold onto them.
