Hi...I'm new to this whole thing so please bear with me... ;)

This is our first trip to the world for all of us (myself, DH and DD). I'm just wondering if CM's let you do child swap with children who are big enough to ride but are scared to ride. Our DD is 8, but is tall for her age, so she looks older. I know child swap is available when you have littler kids too small to ride, but what about when they are bigger. I would hate to have to wait in long June lines twice.

I'd appreciate any input! Thanks!

Probably not, but if you use FP wisely you can minimize the waits on everyone, especially the non-rider. Another idea is to the parks early so you can get on most of the mountains with minimal wait and then slow down and do the rest of the park together, EMH can help with this as well.

Perhaps you can coordinate a split up where some ride RnRC for example while others take in Beauty and the Beast with the 8yo. Then those who didn't ride RnRc ride while those who did take the 8yo for an ice cream or another attraction.

Generally speaking rider swap is set up to accomodate families with children too small to ride - so I wouln't count on using it. That said, I would approach the CM at the entrance, explain the situation and ask him/her how best to handle it. I think most will advise you to use FP but some may allow you to use the rider swap option.

Either way don't worry WDW is really set up well for the entire family, I don't imagine to much your 8yo won't want to try.

Have Fun

Our situation was a little bit different, but they did let us do Child Swap with a child tall enough, but not brave enough. Our youngest DS was 4 while we were at WDW. He is tall for his age, so was tall enough for Space Mountain, but way too scared to even consider it. They let us do Child Swap, but we did have two other kiddos, who did ride, not sure if that matters. More recently, DS was now 5, we went to DisneyLand Paris. They let us do Child Swap for RockNRollerCoaster, he was tall enough, but not brave enough. I would definitely give it a try! Good luck and have a great trip!
