Child Swap?

I have friends going to Disney with a small child. How does the child swap work? I have the fast pass system down – but have no idea about the child swap.

On attractions with hieght minimums go to the CM at the front of the line and ask for Rider Swap. First Parent will be sent through the stand by, or FP line if first parent has a FP. Second parent waits with kids. First parent is given Rider Swap ticket. When first parent returns they give the Rider Swap ticket to second parent. Second parent takes the Rider Swap ticket up the the CM at the entrance, CM directs the second parent where to go. Usually in the FP line sometimes through the exit to almost eliminate the wait for the second parent.

Can the family go through the FP line together – let dad ride first and Mom and daughter wait at the head of the line. Then when Dad returns, he can take the daughter and Mom can ride. Do they allow that? This would seem much faster and the family would be together for most of the time.

They don't usually let the family go through together. (It would cause back ups or safety issues)

Even without waiting together its very quick. We used this last time (we had two kids that couldn't ride and one that could) and we never really waited more than ten minutes while one party rode and then came back.

Some of the CMs require you to "show" your kid! Space Mountain is kind of a pain...you have to walk up to the line show the baby, then they give the other adult a card on a lanyard, then they give you the ride swap after you get all the way through.

On star tours, they like you to wait with your family until the door, but they are not too picky, just go up to any CM and ask! They are very friendly
