When we go to WDW in October Son will be able to ride just aobut everything, but my daughter will not be near tall enough. My question is this...If wife and I utilize the child swap can my son ride the attraction twice so that one of use does not ride it alone...and he gets to ride it twice?:confused3

Yes, he gets to ride twice.

Lucky boy!

Good to hear this...a friend of ours went recenlty and they were not allowed by the CM to take the older child on with them again...I was hoping maybe it was just an uninformed cast member.:thumbsup2

When we went in January, the child swap pass stated that it was good for up to 3 riders...it doesn't matter who they are. Nobody even checked! My niece and even some adults got to ride twice, as only one of us had to stay with the baby.

Yes, the rider switch passes clearly state that they are good for up to 3 people. We have never had a problem taking adults or children twice.

Perhaps your friends were trying to use fastpasses instead of requesting a rider switch pass. (Ex. mom and boy rode using their two FP, then dad tried to get on with his FP and take son again)

You can use FP with rider switch, but you must ask for the rider switch when the first set of riders get on. Then the second set of riders just use the rider switch pass. This really helps to cut down on the amount of time your daughter will have to wait for everyone else to ride the attractions she's not tall enough for.

How do you get a rider switch pass? Does the first person wait in the regular line (or FP line if they have a FP) and then where does the switch take place?

Did they make a change to the child swap? Last Dec we got 6 extra pass for our group? Is it now only 3???

When you go to enter the regular line or the FP line the first time, show the CM that you have a child that is not tall enough and ask for the child swap/rider switch pass. The older child and first parent will go into the standby line or FP line if they have one. When you get off the ride, meet up with the other parent. The other parent and older child can then go into the FP entrance using the rider switch pass. You can also save the rider switch pass and use it later in the day if the older child does not want to ride again right away.

They haven't made any changes (we used rider switch before and after your trip), but what you got was not how rider switch works.

You don't get any number of "extra passes", you get one rider switch pass that is good for up to three people to use. The purpose of rider switch is to allow both parents/adults to experience an attraction that one member does not meet the height requirement for. It's not passes for your whole group to ride again, it's intended to allow the second parent to avoid the line because they've already waited while the other members were riding. (They allow three, so the parent who waited won't have to ride alone.)

This is correct...

When you go to enter the regular line or the FP line the first time, show the CM that you have a child that is not tall enough and ask for the child swap/rider switch pass. The older child and first parent will go into the standby line or FP line if they have one. When you get off the ride, meet up with the other parent. You can also save the rider switch pass and use it later in the day if the older child does not want to ride again right away.

As for where the switch takes place... Parent A can wait with the little one somewhere nearby, or they can walk around the park, ride another nearby attraction, get something to eat, etc. You can meet up and use the pass when it's convenient.

The only attraction that doesn't work like this is Star Tours. There the whole family enters the line together and you actually swap the baby at the ride. It is much nicer at the other attractions because the little one never has to get into a line for an attraction she can't ride.

Can you do this ---- Dad rides with son while Mom and daughter wait and then Dad rides with daughter? Swap child and not parent? There are a few rides that both my kids want to ride but I don't.

You don't need rider switch to do this. All you need to do is get 4 FPs for the attraction. Dad and son use their FPs. Then, when dad rides with daughter he can use your FP. (Rider switch uses the FP line, so it will be the same amount of waiting.)

I believe you must have a child that does not meet the height requirement to get a rider switch pass.
