I am venturing to Dland in August by myself w/ the 3 kiddos (can only "torture" DH twice a year). Is there anyway for me to stand in line with the kids and then duck out with my 2 year old before the ride? It would bother me to let the 7 and 9 year old wait in line by themselves. I would probably only need to do this on Space and Screamin.

TIA!!

It's up to the discretion of the CM whether or not they will let them ride without an adult.

I think they will let the nine year old but not sure about the 7 year old. I would just ask the CM's as to what they think you should do. I know some of the fantasyland rides would let them ride but then again, you'd ride with the little one so those aren't the issue.

When in August are you going?

Everything I've ever read until this post says that 7 year olds are allowed to ride alone.

However, everything I've also ever read says that there's NO WAY an under-height person can get into the lines, so no, you can't wait with your 2 year old inside the line.

Perhaps you can bring a friend? Make a friend (may I suggest the Divas trip thread?) here and meet them?

FYI, the Screamin' queue is right out in the open. You'll practically be able to watch them the whole way through, it's THAT open. Space, not so much.

I was going to suggest rider switch, but isn't it funny that I feel comfy saying "7 and 9 year old can wait in line together", but not with "7 year old can stand outside the ride with 2 year old in the stroller while mom and 9 year old go through". Hmm.

Thanks. The 7 and 9 year old have already done single rider on screamin and grizzly river rapids so I'm pretty sure the cutoff to ride alone is 7. I'm just trying to figure out how they can do space.

We're going the second week in August. There's a possibility of a friend coming. I'm just trying to think of every possible outcome. Its the Disney planner in me:goodvibes

I have gone to DL and WDW numerous times with my DD. When she was 4 years old she rode everything by herself. I am a paraplegic and can not get on most of the rides. I would stay with her in line or use the wheelchair line, see her safely on the ride then wait right where the ride unloads. In Space Mountain she was older I saw her on (she was about 7 then) and I just waited by the benches inside the ride where it unloads. A nice CM would walk her to me then ask if she could ride again and I would say yes and off they would go. This went on for several rides. Finally we left to try other rides.

I would always go with DD and DDF when they were younger but not ride. I did not have a 2 year old but I had to use the wheelchair entrances which you are not supposed to use if the person in the wheelchair is not riding. I could not let them be in line on their own. You may need to insist that you need to bring your 2 year old until your kids are on the ride. We most never forget that we are the customer.

When DD was about 8 we were at WDW in line for Rockin' Roller Coaster, there were 20 somethings behind us and their conversation was pretty X rated. I was glad I was there to distract my daughter. I would not have wanted to have her hear that particular conversation at her age.. So just because Disney thinks your kids are old enough to do something, it does not mean you have to agree. You are the parent not them.

I really never had a problem doing what needed to be done and most of the CMs were more then helpful. Good Luck and do what you think is best!!!!

PS When we were in WDW in May my DD and her DDF both age 13, love to tell the story of riding ToT with the drunk guys....Gives you pause.
