How does this work?? We are going to be traveling with my DD1 and DD4. Are they going to have it on Expedition Everest?

Also, so if my daughter wants to ride on like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad with her dad, but I want to ride on it too but I have to take the baby, could she ride on it with my husband while I wait with the baby and then when they get off, trade the baby to my husband and then my DD4 ride with me?

Any helpful hints will be great, this is the first time we are traveling with a kid that is tall enough to go on the rides.

I don't know about EE but that is typically how baby swapping works. Lucky DD4 will get to go on the ride twice!!!!

Sorry that I am not providing an answer to your question, as we are going on our first trip soon. I am replying because our DD's were born on the same day! princess: princess:
My understanding from other posts is that it depends on the ride, you might be given a Fastpass to come back or allowed to get right on with DD while DH is with the baby. I won't be on it myself as I am expecting again, so ride it once for me!

Child swap works really well and is very easy. Right before the CM is ready to seat you on the ride, just tell them you want child swap. You can go on the ride with your daughter while your husband waits right there for you. When your ride is over, just switch places with your husband...best part is that if your daughter wants to ride twice (once with mom and once with dad), she can!!! My DS(5 at the time) loved it. I've used it on Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Tower of Terror, and a few more rides. I haven't been on Expedition Everest yet (sooooo looking forward to that :hyper: ), but I don't see why they wouldn't. Have fun!

AWESOME...I am glad that they will let her go on both times...then it is nice for both of us to experience them with her. I certainly won't be doing the EE with her but I am sure with BTMR and maybe a few others!

ENJOY your first trip...looks like we will be there at the same time! We are going to celebrate my youngests first birthday!

All the attractions with a height restriction offer "Parent/Guardian Swap" so its pretty safe to assume that Everest will as well. Yes, your daughter can ride with both parents - so no one has to ride alone.

My advice on parent swap is to tell the CM at the attraction before you enter the line that you want to use child swap and find out how they handle it. Do not wait until you are boarding. The baby/child unable to ride must be with you so everyone must enter or approach the line together. Some CM's have you all wait the line together, then the first parent and older child ride and other parent and younger child wait at the exit and then switch via the exit allowing the older child to ride with both parents. Off hand I think only Star Tours still does it this way.

Most rides now give you a rider swap pass. The rider swap pass works like a fast pass and allows up to 3 people total to return to that attraction anytime that day so the second parent can ride. You still all enter the line and ask for baby swap. The CM will give you the pass and the parent riding second and the baby can then leave to do something else while the first party rides. I prefer the pass because the baby or child that dosen't meet the height requirement dosen't have to wait the line for something he/she can't ride.

Just to clarify, the purpose of parent swap is to allow a family with a child who dosen't meet the height restriction to enjoy the attraction with only "1 wait, rather than 2" not to expeidate the wait. We just returned last week and I heard several parents badgering CM's with "we have a baby I was told we can get right on". Remember that baby swap isn't fast pass but just an attempt to help families with young children avoid a double wait.

Easy to use, difficult to explain!! Just remember to ask every time as it can vary even on the same attraction depending on the CM working the line.

We are back from our first trip using baby swap. It was very easy and a big bonus to do! :thumbsup2 At the entrance for the ride where the CMs are standing(usually by the height check) tell them you want to do the parent swap...they have to see the the kid waiting(saw teens trying coax a CM, CM said show me the child) they issue a Parent Swap ticket to the person waiting(or you to give to them) ride the ride and then swap. That parent and up to three others goes through the Fast Pass line and rides. Really like the PS b/c it didn't have a time limit. It seemed we always had a kid needing to potty after we would ride. It was good for one time any time you wanted to use it that day. We also used Fast Passes with it so the original parent and child didn't have to wait as long in the stand-by line, and then swapped. One place it was a little different was Goofy's Barnstormer, the parent waiting to swap waited at the exit since there wasn't a Fast Pass line. Have a magical trip! :wizard:

Going in May with a 9 YO and a 4 YO that's 46" tall. It's not her height that will prevent her from riding most of the rides but her willingness. Can we still do baby swap?

Probably not - in our expirence you can only use parent swap because a member of the party dosen't meet the height requirement.

Here is a recent thread discussing this on the theme parks board:
